If you took part r attempted to take part in the final parts of RIFT's first World Event this weekend, you were either treated to a final showdown that lasted between 1-2 hours or were stuck frustratingly pounding on the keyboard in a long server queue as the event passed you by. If you've been on the forums since then, you know that more than a few people are not happy about how things turned out.
Trion aimed high and they know that while the event was a grand idea and one that with some tweaking could be a lot of fun, was a bit flawed in the execution. Following the event, RIFT Executive Producer Scott Hartsman took to the forums to explain what the event was intended to accomplish and acknowledges that Trion had some missteps along the way and could have done some things differently. Hartsman also notes that what was learned from this weekend's event will be used to make the next one much better.
