  • Puzzle Pirates Review

MMORPG.com has posted a review of the strangely addicting Puzzle Priates.

The client for playing Puzzle Pirates will probably be the easiest you'll ever download for any MMO. The installer is less than 500KB in size and the updates aren't a lot with the current version of the installer. It took me less than an hour to go from download to playing, including time to set up my account and patch the client.

  • Tales of Pirates: Interview with Daniel Lin

MMORPG.com has updated their site today with an interview with IGG's Manager of Overseas Marketing.

MMORPG.com: What classes are available in Tales of Pirates?

Daniel Lin: In Tales of Pirates, each character has a variety of classes they can specialize in. When players reach level 9, they can talk to the respective NPCs to start the quest to select their basic class. When they reach level 40, they can specialize further into their basic class by doing another quest. There are ten classes in all: Swordsman, Hunter, Herbalist, Explorer, Crusader, Champion, Cleric, Seal Master, Sharpshooter and Voyager.

  • Mass Prankage

Every year, Xerin and I stay up drinking adult beverages and waiting for the stroke of midnight, US Pacific time, to see what kind of leg the devs will skillfully pull this year. If you, like us, are a rabid fan of these extra-special touches (and the nice big wrench they toss into official forum communities), you're not going to be disappointed! Go see these elaborate hoaxes, as Xerin says, while they're still funny:

    World of Warcraft

    EverQuest 2

    Lord of the Rings Online

    And, as a special bonus:

  • Playing God - An Editorial

The act of creation and destruction is often something that gives a player (and a person) the greatest sense of achievement. However, most MMOs on the market today seem to be lacking in both of these departments, with gamers unable to do much more than quest and kill respawning mobs. But what does the future crop of MMOs look like? Find the answer in this editorial!

When I woke up the following morning and logged into my MMO flavor-of-the-week, I felt almost discouraged that there was absolutely nothing in the gaming world that I could – graphically – be a part of. With the gradual passing of Shadowbane into oblivion, there are only a scant number of virtual worlds that allow you to actually build something in their game space. And unless I've missed something from a recent MMO contender, there are no titles that allow you to take over a piece of the realm and call it your own.
