  • I call this a Duh! case. It isn't easy to follow the case. I'll sum it up like this. NCSoft got sued last year. The case was over a potential account hack at a cyber cafe. Their login data had been stored in a file.

    Now, with that said, there were no damages reported. This was a case of "something could have happened." The courts in Korea ruled that NCSoft would pay these five people a whopping $530 each.

    I understand that NCSoft is appealing on principal, but c'mon! It's $530 bucks. You can read the entire story here.

  • The Grand Olympiad is a one-on-one PvP competition held to determine the Hero. It is held in one month periods, and at the end of each period, the Noblesse with the most Olympiad points in each class is appointed Hero. Only Noblesse who have completed the third class transfer can participate in the Olympiad competition. Read More Here.

  • Scions of Destiny has launched. You can take a look at the events that will run from February 8 to March 7.

    Chronicle 4: Scions of Destiny is here! Adventurers' Guides and Event Gatekeepers are in the towns of Aden and Elmore to help new and old players experience the largest Chronicle yet.

    From February 8 to March 7, all players can take advantage of the new Noblesse teleport locations, and characters under level 25 can receive special weapons for no charge.

  • The fourth expansion pack to be released free to the Lineage 2 subscribers is now available.

    Chronicle 4: Scions of Destiny is now available for download! Please visit the Game Download section of the official web site to begin your download of the full game. A kit to convert your Public Test Server client to a live client is also available.

    An additional download of the Chronicle 4: Scions of Destiny client is also available from FilePlanet.

    Please note that if you install Chronicle 4 before it launches, you will not be able to log in to Chronicle 3.

    So have fun with that non-consensual PVP.

  • Virtual theft gets real jail time.
    GameSpot is reporting that a Lineage II fraud has resulted in an arrest. Chinese farmers have released a statement that goes something like this:

    "Chinese exchange student arrested by Japanese police after using bot program to steal items from other users and then selling them for cash."

  • Crazy Lineage Hackers Strike Again!
    Hacking MSN wasn't enough. Those crazy Chinese Lineage fanatics have now hacked ESPN looking for Lineage login in. Who's next? Chuck E. Cheese China? Lineage login information isn't available here, but they wrote something or other:

    "Chinese hackers cracked the Web site of MBC ESPN, a domestic sports cable channel, and stole confidential information about subscribers for the popular online role-playing game Lineage, security experts said Wednesday."

    In their neverending bid to make me believe they are the lunatics of MMORPGs some Lineage players have hacked MSN in Korea to steal Lineage login info. If the weren't hacked, they wrote this:

    "Police investigators and Microsoft specialists are continuing to search for clues to the culprits behind this week's high-profile computer break-in. More details emerged Friday about the hacking, which targeted subscribers of an online game called "Lineage" that is popular in Asia."
