    Sony downtime continues this week as additional security work on Playstation Network, Qriocity and Sony Online Entertainment systems remains in testing. Details of 2500 contest entrants were leaked and removed from a dated Sony website last week following rumored reports of a weekend attack. Is Sony secure enough to have services restored by the end of the month as many speculate?

    SOE's Thom Terrazas takes time to talk to the folks at MMORPG.com.

    MMORPG.com: Happy Anniversary on three years of PlanetSide, how has the community and game-play grown since launch?

    Thom Terrazas: Three Years – Thank you very much! We’re very proud of the work we have done on PlanetSide since the launch on May 19, 2003.

    PlanetSide is in a league of it’s own as an MMOFPS, in that you can have literally hundreds of players fighting in one area. It is a very unique game where players can play in an FPS-style and have the in-game content updated and changed constantly. Since launch, there have been hundreds of thousands of players deciding on which empire to join. Many of which create outfits (or guilds, as you might be more familiar with in other games) and continue on with their own web sites to support their friends they’ve made in game or to support PlanetSide altogether.

    Thom Terrazas - PS has gone through a lot of exciting changes since launch. Some of the more notable features we are proud of include localizing PlanetSide in China; Merit/Award Commendations; Battle Islands; BFR’s; and the Event System. We have a very vocal community that gives us great feedback on a daily basis. We try to be as responsive as possible to their suggestions. Like us, they just want the game to become better and better.
