BOTS is an action-oriented MMOG fighting game, where players have the opportunity to pilot a giant robot and fight NPCs and other players in fast-paced combat. BOTS was released in 2006 as the first free-to-play title from the revamped Acclaim company. With several Acclaim games now live and more on the docket to be published, BOTS has forged the path for Acclaim to find its feet again.

As a player in BOTS, you can choose from several different options of play: Multi or single player story modes that include Sector (Player vs Virus), PVP (Player/Team vs Player/Team) and Base (Base vs Base). Players initially enter a room and play through a scenario. At the end of each scenario they're given loot and currency to continue playing. With that loot and currency, they can upgrade and adapt their BOTS to advance their own avatars.

Acclaim Games ceased service on August 26th, 2010 after being acquired by Playdom. Support for Bots and all other games by Acclaim Games ceased on that date.
