The Firefly MMOG (working title) is still in the early stages of pre-production. Multiverse, the company that grabbed the Firefly license, is currently looking for an active developers to create the Firefly game on the Multiverse game engine. Without a developer, the time line for Firefly is still very much up in the air. Bridges has mentioned having a playable Beta by 2008, but all dates are works in progress.

20th Century Fox, the media studio that holds the rights to the Firefly IP, has been working with Multiverse in an effort to compose the necessary elements to create a faithful vision of the Firefly franchise. Multiverse, which was founded by former Netscape employees, has Fox’s confidence in their creation of the game.
