Dragon Age Origins is a mature-themed dark heroic fantasy game set in a unique world. Considered the spiritual successor to BioWar's classic, Baldur's Gate,Dragon Age Origins uses a pause-and-play tactical combat system. Players can acquire unique party members that have their own motivations and immerse themselves in cinematic rich dialogue.

Players can choose on of three main starting classes: Fighter, Rogue, and Mage. Some races are limited to what classes they can play, for example, a dwarf can't be a mage. You can customize your character in great detail by using the most detailed facial customization tool Bioware has created to date, choosing your characters point of origin and backstory, and by choosing your race, gender, and class. You can choose to play as one of three races: Humans, Elves, and Dwarves. Each race will have a specific racial bonus.

Rather than a good or evil alignment system, Dragon Age Origins revolves around managing personal relationships with your party members. Some actions may make them happy, while others may anger them.
