Allods is a free-to-play MMORPG developed by Astrum Nival. The game features a cinematic soundtrack from Mark Morgan, who developed music for Dexter, Fallout 1 & 2, and Planescape: Torment. The art is created by award-winning artists and features a vast and gorgeous world complete with flying ships crewable by multiple paties to explore new realms and pillage unfortunate astral travelers.

The game features 2 warring factions, 6 races, 8 archetypes, and 28 classes for players to choose from. All of Allods animations use motion capture technology and the game has already won several awards for visual and artistic design.

Allods Online Launches in Europe with Volume 4: Astral Odyssey

Allods Online celebrated its official North American launch last month, but our good friends in Europe (EU) had to wait a little while longer. Luckily, today marks the end of that wait with the official EU launch of Allods Online. Accompanying the launch is Volume 4: Astral Odyssey, bringing a huge burst of new content that includes: two new zones, 6 new Allods, additional free in-game items and a beginners' pack for new players. Allods Online Launches in NA with New Update, EU Launch to Follow on May 11th
It's hard to count the number of free-to-play games that stall out in the open beta phase, but today Allods Online ensured that it will not be one of them. After spending over a year in open beta, Allods Online officially launched in North America today with a new content loaded update that boosts the level cap and adds two new high-level zones.

The time spent in open beta allowed gPotato to iron out some of the less desired elements of the game, which included cash shop pricing issues and a harsh and costly death penalty. We got the chance to preview the launch update for Allods at GDC 2011 and the official patch notes for that update are now available for viewing on the Allods Online website.

The European launch for Allods Online is scheduled to take place on May 11th, 2011 and gPotato Europe has released a new launch trailer that you can check out after the break.

Allods Online EU Launch Set for May 11th, 2011

Allods Online will officially launch in NA later this month with the deployment of the "Astral Odyssey" update, but our friends across the pond in EU will have to wait just a little longer. Luckily, they can keep playing the game as usual until its official EU release on May 11th, 2011. In a recent release, Gala Networks Europe detailed all the new content that will make its way into the game when it officially launches on May 11th, including two new zones, an increase in the level cap and more. Updated: Allods Online Set to Launch April 26th with Massive Content Update

Gala-Net is about to bring its long-time open beta period for Allods Online to an end with the game's 2.0.02 update scheduled for deployment on April 26th, 2011. At that time, Allods Online will have its official launch and a fresh massive dose of new content. The update is the largest for the game thus far and will introduce new endgame content with six new allods, two new gear systems, new raid changes and much more.

The new gear systems will provide players with an alternate method of obtaining new gear other than 24-man raids by combining items from heroic instances and PvP battles. Check out the official release after the break for more details.
