The Burning Crusade + World of Warcraft Features, Guides, and more

  • Do You Suffer Burnout?

This week's common content is all about the games you play beside your favorite MMORPG. In this case it's World of Warcraft, the most popular MMORPG out there. What games do the players play along side WoW? We answer this question in our latest article, Variety in Gaming.

"You can't be completely faithful to one game. Sure, World of Warcraft (WoW) offers almost everything possible in a video gaming experience (well, everything but penguin robots) and costs fifteen dollars a month to main an account, but that isn't enough to shackle you down forever to just playing one game. Variety is required or the nasty
MMORPG condition known as "burnout" happens. That's when a variety of online and offline games come into play to mix up the day to day entertainment of your average WoW player."

  • Keep Your Money In Your Pocket...Not the Gold Sellers!

Making money in World of Warcraft may seem like a daunting task, but in reality it's quite simple and only requires a little bit of extra time. We've compiled some of the best ways to make cash within World of Warcraft and avoid those nasty gold sellers. Why spend real life money when you can spend a little extra time and make money yourself?

"To get your mount you should probably invest in at least one gathering skill. Sell everything you don't need in your inventory on the auction house and try to gather/sell as much stuff from level twenty onwards. A hundred gold isn't a problem if you keep to buying skills and avoid buying items that give little to no stat bonuses."

Don't miss out on any of the hints in this helpful guide! Have we forgotten anything? Let us know in the forums at WoW Ten Ton Hammer.

  • Tier 3 Druid Guide

Class-specific "Tier 3" armor sets represent the ultimate gear in World of Warcraft, the absolute cream of the crop, at least until Burning Crusade is released this winter. A full set represents countless hours spent getting the prerequisite gear toearn yourself a spot in a raid that has a prayer of successfully dispatching the bossess found deep within the toughest dungeon in the game: Naxxramas, then raiding Naxx until you have all the epic drops and rare loot you need to complete the Tier 3 quests. We've begun adding Tier 3 information to our popular class guides, starting with the Druid class guide.

One of the Key factors you need to consider is how you are you going to play your class. Will it be Feral? Maybe balance? Or perhaps Restore. Which ever path you follow armor stats will play a key role in how well you will do.

Have a look, and stay tuned for more class guide updates in the coming week at WoW Ten Ton Hammer!

  • What Will The Future Bring To Blizzard? has posted an interview with Blizzard's COO, Paul Sams. They had a chance to sit down with him at the recent Games Convention 2006 in Leipzig, Germany.

At just shy of 7 million global users, World of Warcraft is by far the most popular MMO games out there, and is one of the only MMOs to experience rampant success in North America and Europe as well as Asia. In addition to an English version of the game, you can find World of Warcraft in German, French, Korean, Chinese, and there's a Spanish version coming soon. At this rate, World of Warcraft is well on its way to being the most-translated game in the world.

While World of Warcraft was released in Europe in February 2005, four months after the U.S., sales are still very strong in that region as well as around the world. Sams tells us that August 2006 was the biggest sell-through month for the game in Europe, with even more copies sold than in November or December of 2005.

Keep reading to see what Sams has to say. Haven't joined the WoW Community here at Ten Ton Hammer yet? Well now's your chance! Head over to WoW Ten Ton Hammer and sign up. It only takes a moment and then you can share your thoughts with us aout this and all your favorite MMOs.

  • Amber and Jeremy Weldon on Playing WoW Together as Husband and Wife

WoW and Marriage, WoW and Marriage... do they go together like a tank and bandage? Meet Amber and Jeremy, two stereotype-breaking proud parents who help make up the estimated 26% of total MMO playerbase who are married with children. What does it take to game together without turning your happy home into an impromptu a PvP battleground? The Weldons share their secrets to successful massively matrimonial online gaming, plus a little bit about their online lives together too.

"Amber: I might get frustrated if Jeremy levels too fast, or if he stays up too late raiding, or plays the game when I'd rather go out somewhere, but I don't stay mad long. Because more often than not, I'm right there staying up till 2 or 3 am with him or catching up to him in levels on an alt while he's raiding with his main. We game for fun. Once it gets to where it's not fun (we've had it happen before--with [Ultima Online]), then we find something else to do that will be fun."

  • WoW Coming to a Console Near You? has posted an interview with Blizard's COO Paul Sams. In this interview he discusses the console issue and much much more! Keep reading...

It's odd to learn that Blizzard Entertainment might be wary of taking on a new challenge. After all, the decision to create a Warcraft MMORPG, despite the huge amounts of time, money and risk involved, worked out rather well.

So well, in fact, that the game is now played by more than 6 million players worldwide - and counting. What's more, they're all forking out at least $12.99 a month for the privilege, which means Blizzard probably isn't having too much trouble paying the bills. Namely the bills for their champagne fountains, personal helicopters and office chairs made out of melted-down fabergé eggs. Possibly.

But as all good businesses know, you can never have too much money. So, what with the next-gen battle truly kicking off at the end of this year, it seems logical that Blizzard might turn its attention to consoles next. Surely there's a huge section of the gaming audience crying out for a console version of World of Warcraft - and since they'll be willing to pay for the privilege, surely Blizzard will oblige?

Find out the answer and then head over to WoW Ten Ton Hammer and tell us what you think!
