MPOGD has a brand-new Agency preview for you all this morning.

Action! Adventure! Intrigue! Sony Online's Seattle office has been hard at work on an upcoming First-Person Shooter style MMO titled The Agency, which will offer players the chance to become spies. At E3, we got our first glimpse of the game, with a pre-rendered trailer we were told was in-game footage. It looked pretty darned nice.

E3's demonstration of The Agency was not altogether different from what we saw at SOE Gamer Day and SOE Seattle's Corey Dangel, an Art Director on the game, admitted that was intentional. They showed the same videos and gameplay, but unlike Gamer Day, E3 afforded (oh how the world has turned on its head) more of a chance to actually sit down and talk to them about their game.

While Sony's The Agency will have its fair share of fetch quests, the fresh espionage setting, a breath of fresh air from the hundreds of fantasy- and space-themed online games, sets the stage for a little something different. Missions can be done solo or with a partner, though the latter is being touted as the preferred method. Teammates can revive fallen comrades as well as provide much more reliable cover fire than their AI counterparts.
