Mass Effect 2 recently launched its final piece of DLC with Arrival to bridge the gap between its story and the upcoming launch of Mass Effect 3. And while details about Mass Effect 3 have been a bit scarce, that's about to change. The latest issue of Game Informer features 12 pages of exclusive new info, screenshots and art. The cover for the magazine has already been revealed and shows a very serious looking Commander Shepard gracing the cover with what appears to be Earth in the background taking a few hits.

Subscribers to Game Informer should be receiving the magazine soon, but others will have to pick it up in stores.

If you're a fan of the well-written and deeply involving story of the Mass Effect saga, you won't want to miss out on the final content update for Mass Effect 2. The Arrival officially launched for the game today, adding the final piece of story that will bridge the gap between Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3, which is scheduled to launch later this year.

The Arrival tasks the stories main character with locating a deep cover agent in Batarian space, who went missing after reporting an imminent Reaper invasion. What will Commander Shepard find waiting on the edge of the galaxy? That remains a mystery, but we can speculate that it will in some way lead to the invasion of Earth that we saw in the Mass Effect 3 trailer.

Mass Effect 2 will be receiving its final piece of downloadable content with "Arrival" to bridge the story between it and the upcoming Mass Effect 3. The DLC will arrive on March 29th, 2011 and will task Commander Shepard with rescuing an undercover operative on the edge of the galaxy that may have information on an impending Reaper invasion. Reprising the role of Admiral Hackett in the DLC is the legendary Lance Henriksen (Alien, Terminator), who has also voiced other BioWare characters like Master Gnost-Dural in Star Wars: The Old Republic.

The Mass Effect series has used a detailed story system, which allows players to transfer their characters over from each previous game. Decisions made during those games actually influence the story as you continue through the sequel. Even small side-missions can have an impact on the story. Arrival will be the final piece of DLC before the launch of Mass Effect 3.
