Free Realms is a family-oriented MMOG from Sony Online Entertainment that focuses on bringing fun and free entertainment to the MMOG-centric family unit. According to SOE President John Smedley, Free Realms includes specific instances of micro-trading but won't focus on that to earn money. This is the first attempt by SOE to create a truly family-friendly game, and SOE hopes to emulate the success of titles like Maple Story and Runescape.
Players can choose between one of two classes; human or a pixie. As you level up you can choose one of several jobs like miner, chef, postman and ninja.
Free Realms is free-to-play with a premium membership. Sony also sells items for the game through ther Station Exchange service.
