  • Pretty pictures of a game you can't play. Are you excited yet?
MMOGInfo has posted three screenshots from the in development title, RF Online by Codemasters. The screenshots appear to have come originally from www.juegaEnRed.com. Let's hope that CodeMasters hits the bit on the head with this one.

" Codemasters has published three new screenshots of their upcoming MMORPG RF Online showing some of the player suits for combat. "

  • If you ever wanted to play anime...

RF Online is for you. You can see why at IGN, but first, here's some background on the game. No cute voiceovers or out-of-place sound effects yet, I'm afraid... you'll have to wait to next year to get the full manga experience.

CCR's RF Online is a persistent state world offering three diverse playable factions. The expansion-minded Accretian Empire is an autocratic regime with citizens who are completely devoted to the welfare of the collective. Comprising numerous jurisdictions, the Cora people's Holy Alliance has fought many wars, invariably in furtherance of its deeply held spiritual convictions. The Bellato Union is constantly searching for new resources it can exploit, by force if necessary, in pursuit of its ambitious primary goal, economic domination of the cosmos.

Codemasters has announced that it will launch the title next year in the North American and UK markets.

  • Asia ports another MMO to the West... it worked for FFXI!
RF Online, a 2006-release sci-fi MMO currently undergoing localization by Codemasters, gets some press from RPGVault. The screens hint at a heavily PvP-based development model, and have the usual Far Eastern penchant for animated women in high boots & lingerie.

  • Pictures that won't look anything like the final product.
Turbine has posted some Lord of the Rings Online concept art for you viewing pleasure. The picture today is what that girl you met last night looks like when you sober up, otherwise known as the Gothorog. Elijah Wood was too busy eating second breakfast to speak to us, but his agent was kind enough to tell us:

" In the early days of Angmar, the Witch-king sent forces North to "collect" the remnants of an evil race that was long believed destroyed, but which Sauron's far-seeing eye spied in the ruins of the Northern Waste. These ancient creatures were few in number but great in strength; of Troll-kind but far more cunning, and exceedingly cruel. The name given them was Gorthorog. "

  • Pretty pictures of a game you can't play.
MMORPG.com has posted two screenshots from the in-development RF Online. Bruce Willis asked that we not repeat the following:

"Codemasters recently announced that they have decided to adapt the RF
Online for the North American and European markets. The sci-fi MMORPG
with a distinct anime-feel is being ported over by the folks best known
for the now cancelled Dragon Empires."

  • Shakycam Screenshots.
Stratics has posted some Shakycam Screenshots of Dungeons and Dragons Online: Stormreach taken at the recent PAX event. Bruce Campbell has claimed that the shots are fakes and showed us his "Boomstick!" to prove it. Proof that they are legit includes the following:

"Next on the list in our multi-part report on DDO at the 2005 PAX Event
is a series of images that we took of the game's interface, as well as
a picture of the event itself and of a Hill Giant that was determined
to smack some players around: "

This is a test of the emergency description system. If the folks at LotRO had posted a description of their screenshots you would have read it here. Remember this is only a test. In the case of a real emergency you will find us hiding in a well."

  • Ever want to just slay an orc or two?
LotRO's newest screenshot might just fuel that urge. This game looks great, and if you don't believe me...

"[Ed. Note: I was going to paste the UUCode for the image here, since there's no description. But since very few of us can down UUCode straight, without a viewer of some sort, I figured you might better enjoy clicking on the link below for instant visual gratification.]"

  • Dragon Glamour Photos.
TheTheGame has posted some Dungeons and Dragons Online: Stormreach screenshots. Courtney Love was unavailable for comment, but are relatively sure that she is part dragon. We are also relatively sure that she has never said the following:

" "Dungeons & Dragons Online" will let players travel alone or in parties as they explore the seemingly endless dungeon complexes found beneath the world. Through the dungeons, players will engage in physical and magical combat with hideous foes straight from the pages of the "Monster Manual"(TM) rulebook. "

  • Shiny pictures of a game you can't play.
Turbine has posted some fancy new screenshots from Lord of the Rings Online. We are confident that Sean Astin did not, in fact, say the following:

" This is a test of the emergency description system. Had Turbine actually taken 20 seconds to post a description of their new screenshots you would have read it here. Remember, this is only a test. "
