  • It's a famous landmark and now you get to see it through the eyes of the Turbine crew. See the Brandywine Bridge here. and read the lore behind it.

The Bridge of Stonebows, as the Brandywine Bridge was once called, was built originally by the Men of Arnor as a causeway across the Barandúin River on the Great East Road. When the founders of the Shire were granted their land by the king of Arthedain, the price was simple: to maintain and care for the Bridge so that travel into the West would never be impeded. The Hobbits of the Shire performed their duty, even long after the North-kingdom failed, and maintained the great stone bridge, denying none passage, Man, Elf, or Dwarf. Though the river's name was changed to the Brandywine and the bridge itself became the Brandywine Bridge, the Hobbits of the Shire continue to care for and keep watch on the Bridge.

  • Codemasters has taken a heavy handed stance with RMT companies and people who use this mode of gameplay. Real Money Trading will not be sanctioned nor tolerated in this one so if you feel the need to deal in it, I'd advise picking another game.

As you know, Ten Ton Hammer took the stance in January that we would no longer sell adspace to gold traders or any secondary market company. So, with that said, we applaud Codemasters for standing by their policy.

    Greetings, Citizens of Novus.

Today, following a brief investigation which began on a tip from an anonymous Bellato from spirit server, we have suspended over 170 accounts involved in a major RMT operation.

I would like to make it clear that a number of our investigations come from the valuable contributions you the players make, who spend enough time in Novus to recognize the patterns normally associated with these groups. Your help is invaluable, and we thank you.

Please remember to report suspicious activities at: http://cogsupport.codemasters.com/

  • Honestly, I wish that all of the MMORPG companies would do this. It's alot easier to download a game rather than wait for those popular games to be available at your local game store.

I can't tell you how many times I've had to wait a day or two after launch simply because I had to wait for the retail version of the game to be available. It horks me off. Turbine is doing a great thing here by allowing customers to now puchase the game and download from Direct2drive.com This option is only available in North America. However, it's a start.

  • RMT ? For those of you who are getting a slow start this morning (like myself) it means, Real Money Trading. So.. in essence... RMT = Gold Buying / Selling / Secondary Market.

Ok that is as smart as I get for the day. Here are the details.

    Hello,

Today in excess of 150 RMT accounts have been suspended due to breach of the Terms of Service.

We would like you all to think twice before risking your character in such activities, for more details of today’s events please follow this link:

    Happy Easter!

The details of their policy are right here on the community forums. It's nice to see these guys doing something rather than just blowing hot air.

  • The Easter Bunny will never survive this post apocalyptic nuke. I see fur and feet flying everwhere. On the other hand.. think of all of the luck we'll have with those severed bunny toes.

Citizens of Novus Prepare for the Easter Invasion!
Beginning on Good Friday and building up to what will be one of the biggest battles seen in any MMORPG to date; involving hundreds of monsters in full out war, the planet Novus will be invaded and only you can help! Will you heed the call? It’s time to declare your allegiance in the planets last stand…

Friday 14th – A siege on the HQs from the Bulky Lunkers. Usually based in the Sette Dessert the Lunkers have gone crazy and started attacking the Faction HQ’s, no one knows why or how they got there but why miss an opportunity for some profitable hunting!

Saturday 15th – On closer inspection the Crag mine control centre is attracting a lot of strange activity, is this just a random occurrence, or is there more to this? Can these creatures be destroyed? It’s up to you to investigate and report to your race leader.

Sunday 16th – Sette Invasion - Can all 3 Factions put aside their differences as the strange creatures seize control of Sette and make their last stand. The Cora, Accretia and Bellato will need to fight back against this invasion to ensure the survival of Novus. Are reports of a weird presence in the Sette temple correct?

For those lucky few to make it through the chaotic struggle a reward will be granted for your valour in combat.

  • Every time I see a new piece of concept art from this game, it takes my breath away. I don't know how true it will be to the story or how far they can go with it.. but the visuals, they just leave me speechless.

With that said, there is new lore today from the Official Lord of the Rings Online site.

This watch-tower, its name long-forgotten, once overlooked the eastern reaches of Fornost of which little now remains. Though crumbling and decrepit, it still stands as a grand testament to the architects of Arnor, a monument both carved from the living stone upon which it rests and built from stone blocks and mortar. The ruined tower yet watches over the eastern gate of Fornost, which still stands amidst crumbling walls, bearing the charge of the Seven Stars, though the courtyard beyond has become home to cursed shades, tainted by failure and betrayal.

Go read the rest and see what I mean about the art.

  • Gamecloud has some recent news on Archlord along with some sweet shots.

The legend, which forms the back-story to ArchLord, tells of an ancient time when two mighty heroes from different races jointly held the Archons, using their power to unite the races. Fearing that the untold power of the Archons may bring death and disaster if they fell into the wrong hands, the heroes kept them safe and hidden. Now, one hundred years later, the legend of the two heroes has faded and the Archons are there to be claimed – if they can be found…

  • Er, what I meant to say was the Watching Stone. It's a new bestiary update for you today.

Statues throughout Middle-earth are not always what they seem. The very stone of some statues hold the trapped spirit of malice within, crafted by the Dark Lord long ago with skilled workmanship and dark ritual. These ominous statues act as sentries and alarms within the realm of Angmar and throughout the lands corrupted by the shadow. Within many of the ruins throughout Eriador and Arnor, in lands once controlled by the darkness of Mordor's reach, these watchers remain, ever-vigilant even after centuries of abandonment.
