Dungeons & Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited + Lord of the Rings Online News

  • New Players Beta Journal

The official site for Lord of the Rings Online has been updated with another in their series of Player Beta Journals. This week's installment talks about the Captian Class.

Today was my first time fighting with a fellowship in an instance. Up until this point I had been struggling with the usefulness of my captain. He "wasn't the best solo dps" or "his buffs and heals didn't feel that effective." Part of this was because I was still in my lower levels. Well today that all changed.

  • More D&D fun than you can roll some dice at...

One of the most anticipated titles of winter 2006 just got a little better. The Atari Group announced today that with every European retail copy of Neverwinter Nights 2, players will receive a free 7-day trial of Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach.

Neverwinter Nights 2 will include a code for a seven day free trial of DUNGEONS & DRAGONS ONLINE™: Stormreach™, and also that module 3, The Demon Sands, is now available bringing a string of new gameplay enhancements to the hit title. DUNGEONS & DRAGONS ONLINE: Stormreach is based on the world-renowned DUNGEONS & DRAGONS® brand franchise from Wizards of the Coast, Inc., a subsidiary of Hasbro, Inc. The game is developed by Turbine, published in Europe by Atari and operated by Codemasters Online Gaming.

No NN2 joy for North Americans, but you can still pick up the game for a $29.95 digital download at the DDO official site. You can read the same thing with more words by viewing the press release, but I'd recommend checking out the DDO - Ten Ton Hammer community site instead.

  • Exploring Middle-earth: Brandy Hall

The official site for Lord of the Rings Online has been updated with another in the series of Exploring Middle-earth. In this edition, we are given a peek at Brandy Hall.

For nearly 700 years, the warm light from the many windows of Brandy Hall has welcomed visitors crossing the Brandywine River from the west into Buckland. Originally delved and built by Gorhendad Oldbuck, the first Master of the Hall (as the head of the Brandybuck family is called), and greatly expanded over generations, the ancestral home of the Brandybuck family is now formed of many tunnels and rooms occupying the entirety of Buck Hill on the eastern banks of the Brandywine.

Although he sometimes appears to be old and frail, Gandalf the Grey is actually one of the most powerful allies of the good folk of Middle-earth and a guide to the Free Peoples in their struggle against the darkness. In addition to being a powerful wizard, Gandalf wields Glamdring, the Foe-hammer, a magical Elven-sword forged in the First Age and greatly feared by the creatures of evil

  • Welcome to World Content Systems 101

The official site for Lord of the Rings Online has been updated with a page written by Matt Elliot who tells us about the world content we can expect to find in Middle-earth.

Most MMOs are rife with numerous content and game systems that help bring their particular world together, making it feel more immersive and alive. Some of these systems may not be noticeable on the surface at first, but after a bit of digging and exploring, a player can discover a fortune in gameplay. The Lord of the Rings Online™: Shadows of Angmar™ is no different. Our goal is to not only provide an epic story spanning across the lands of Eriador, but also support that story – and our world as a whole – with fun and interesting World Content Systems.
