Dungeons & Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited News

  • New Enhancement System

The official site for Dungeons and Dragons Online has been updated to point us to the official forums. There you will find the first look at the new enchancement sytem.

    Enhancements Overview
aka: 5 things you need to know about the enhancement overhaul

    1. Each action point is important.

As you level, you gain action points. As you spend your action points to buy enhancements, your old enhancements don’t go away. You never have to ‘unslot’ an enhancement in order to fit a new one in. Instead, enhancements build on each other. While before you got new, more powerful versions of old enhancements automatically as you leveled up, with the old ones disappearing, now your old versions stick around. You can then choose to spend more action points and buy the better version or buy an entirely new enhancement instead.

  • Monster Profile: Warforged Titan

The official site for Dungeons and Dragons Online has been updated with a profile of the Warforged Titan.

Warforged are properly classified as Living Constructs – they possess free will and sentience, while combining aspects of both constructs and living creatures. In Khorvaire, they were perfected in 965 YK by House Cannith to fight in the Last War, and were based on earlier models that lacked true living construct qualities. These earlier models were often quite large, and included the massive titans.

  • Risia Is Open This Weekend!

Another update to the Dungeons and Dragons official site lets us know that Risia is up and running and has the new Litany of the Dead Part 2 content.

We have combined all of the servers onto Risia this time: the data was grabbed on December 9th, so any character you created before 12/9/06 should be on Risia for you to play.

Unfortunately we did have a small implementation issue as we were transferring over all of the characters: Some guild data did not survive the jump. You will be able to create a new guild, but your old guild will not exist. In addition, players from Xoriat, Mabar, Sarlona, Fernia, and Lhaazar will be missing their Friends Lists.

  • Guardian Class Beta Journal

The official site for Lord of the Rings Online has been updated today with another in the weekly series of weekly player beta journals.

I wasn't sure how this game was going to turn out, but after playing as a Guardian, I have come to realize that, yes, this game is great fun when played mainly solo, but, unlike many other MMO's I've played, the classes develop so many more uses when played as a part of a group.

  • The Festival Jester Arrives!

The official site for Dungeons and Dragons Online has been updated with news on this holiday festival...

Festival is a new holiday commissioned by the Coin Lords of Stormreach. Since ancient times, the folk of Eberron have observed Long Shadows during these chill weeks -- a grim season when the power of the Shadow, god of the Dark Six, is at its strongest. Dire magic gathers in dusky corners, and evil stalks the night in a thousand guises. The Coin Lords have determined that the terror of Long Shadows must end! To this end, they devised Festival, a celebration to drive evil out of the city. Instead of cowering from the Shadow, citizens are encouraged to exchange gifts with their adventuring partners and loved ones. And by slaying the monsters who threaten the city's well-being, they may collect Festival Coins to demonstrate their dauntless spirit in the face of Long Shadows and the Dark Six!
