  • It's always interesting to read what happened to the dev's at E3. It's not long but amusing in it's briefness.

E3 from the Cave of Blackguard
Well, I’m officially back from E3 and in action again at work. It was a great E3 from my perspective, but this write-up may not be quite as interesting as you would hope because I lived in an isolated world this year--I probably walked around E3 outside of my booth for a total of two hours, but that’s okay because inside the SOE booth it was relatively quiet and comfortable.

    Read it all here.

  • I can't believe it's... caffeinated and... tastes like bacon?

Eating and drinking are as much a part of gaming as having the Firefly DVDs going, or something other than 80’s music playing. Kiara takes a humorous look at what gamers eat, and what not to spill on your keyboard.

Word association time. When you think of gaming, what's the first thing that comes to mind? Snacking of course! Games, whether on the computer or pen and paper, require food and drink. There are certain staples that grace the computer desks of gamer geeks everywhere. There are also some slightly odder preferences too. What you eat when you game says a lot about you. Okay, probably not, but it sure sounded good in my head.

  • L3g0la5 beware...

Grab your bow, put on your pointy ears, but I swear if I see your character named Leg0las or L3eg0la5, I'm going to put rabid badgers in your pants. • It's the end of the world as we know it...

And I feel fiiiiiiiiiiine! Sorry... an inevitable change is coming to EverQuest 2. Some handle it well, others rant and attempt to incite revolution on an epic scale. Doom and gloom has come to Norrath and Coyotee Sharptongue, as always, is on the scene. Whether or not he is the cause of the doom and gloom remains to be seen.

“The recent statement from the Powers-That-Be that informed us of upcoming changes to be implemented was seemingly clear and concise. However I am told that a darker, more sinister “truth” lays hidden within these words and is spells out a grizzly message.” Coyotee says in serious tones as he turns to a figure who has moved beside him.

  • Get your daily dose of Coyote!

Can't get enough Coyote Sharptongue to satisfy you? You aren't alone. He's now doing a daily blog about MMO's. Laugh, agree, disagree, throw objects but take look at the hillarity that is...

  • Taking the mystery out of mystics...

Don't understand Mystics? Neither do I, especially once I've duct taped their mouth shut for saying "OOP" too many times. Slide updates the EverQuest 2 TenTonHammer Mystic guide to include every spell through level 70.

To become a mystic, you must be a citizen of Qeynos. Other than that, the path to becoming a higher level mystic race really makes no difference. Some of the races have a little more wisdom than others, that won't be a major factor at higher levels. The main thing is that you have to like the race you are playing. You will be the one that is looking at the character every time you log on. So be sure to choose one that is appealing to you. After all, your character is an extention of your personality, especially if you are into role playing, so choose one that you enjoy.

  • En garde!

Writer Slide on the EQ2 - TenTonHammer site puts on the heavy armor and topples over, but after being helped back puts together the revamped Ten Ton Hammer guide to Guardians. Check out the updated Combat Ability list reflecting the recent "Kingdom of Sky" expansion.

The kind of role you play as Guardian, especially in groups, is an extremely active one. Guardians, with their high damage mitigation (which is a rough measure of how much damage gets through your armor to lower your health), high defense, decent avoidance, and taunt-heavy abilities seem born to be tanks. Tank is a fun anachronism of the MMORPG world, but its entirely applicable. You want the damage to be focused on you to allow your groupmates to do their job.

Make sure to glance at the Updated Guide to Guardians at EverQuest 2 - TenTonHammer.
