  • Ten Ton Hammer's Guide to Naxxramas Update

This week we bring you an all new update to our constantly evolving guide to Naxxramas. We've compiled a list of 1st hand tactics required to slay Noth the Plaguebringer, the first boss of the Plague Wing. Truly one of the hardest enemies in the game, Noth the Plaugebringer provides an excellent challenge and even better loot. Next up in our series of Naxxramas updates is Instructor Razuvious, so check back often for updates!

"The real challenge of this battle is the three spawn points that spawn elite enemies. You need to assign three groups (one for each spawn point) to contain these enemies. You need a Priest who can shackle the enemies, a Paladin (if available) to assist in bringing them to the tank (Exorcism), and finally a Mage to also help bring the
adds to a tank (warning though, they will 2-3 hit a person in cloth). Shamans can also be used to Frost/Earth shock the adds in order to bring them to that corners tank."

Keep reading to get ready to take on this encounter! Got a better tactic? Tried what was recommened? Let us know how it worked in the forums at WoW Ten Ton Hammer.

  • Blizzard's Jeff Kaplan With An Exclusive "Burning Crusade" Update

World of Warcraft PR Manager Shon Damron and Lead Designer Jeff Kaplan have travelled the world demoing a recent build of WoW's premier expansion and answering questions from the international press. Jeff "Ethec" Woleslagle travelled to the Big Apple with your questions, and now we bring you the cutting-edge latest on what will prove to be the biggest expansion to hit the MMORPG genre in years. See the progress since E3 in May, learn about the substantial changes Blizzard has in store for PvP and the raid game, and - of course - Blizzard answers the WoW Ten Ton Hammer community's toughest questions.

"It's true, 25 is the new 40. The largest raids in the expansion will be capped at 25 players. Kaplan explained the rationale: "We felt like we could preserve all the epic-ness and grandeur of the current raid game and difficulty. Our raids aren't going to become any easier, if anything they'll become more challenging, but will require fewer players. We find that once you get over 25, it's not making the game any more challenging, it's just making the logistics challenging." Kaplan promised that, with the raid limit decrease, Blizzard would address the real and perceived class imbalances that keep some players out of the raid game. "We don't end up in a raid of 25 with 20 warriors and 5 priests or something like that. We're reviewing all the classes to make sure everybody wants to be present in the raid game.""

Keep reading to find out what else is in store in the upcoming Burning Crusades expansion. You can find this interview and more at WoW Ten Ton Hammer. Stop the forums and share your thoughts with us.

  • Temple of Ahn'Qiraj (AQ40) Secrets Revealed

We present an exciting new guide that walks you through The Temple of Ahn'Qiraj (AQ40). We explain how to slay every boss in this bug infested zone. Ranging in difficulty from Molten Core style bosses all the way to Naxxramas, AQ40 presents an interesting challenge for any guild out there. Many of the encounters require coordination and teamwork to overcome the challenges AQ40 presents. Our guide assists in providing a wealth of information and tactics on every encounter within this fierce instance.

"When the charge is called your main tank needs to lead into battle and grab Skeram's attention first. While your tank group is working on controlling Skeram have your ranged DPS and healers get up on the stair rails (be sure they are split up evenly although the range from one stair rail to the other is good). With your non-melee people up on the stair rail you will avoid the Arcane Explosion which should be contained on the three lower platforms. Your two off-tanks should each take a position on the two platforms for when he teleports. They need to be alert and ready to take control of Skeram if he appears before them."

Hurry over and read the rest of this guide! Before you head off to play be sure to stop by the forums at WoW Ten Ton Hammer and let us know your experiences with Temple of Ahn'Qiraj (AQ40)!

  • Paladins: A Love Hate Relationship

When WoW was first released, my first character was a Paladin. Since then it has been a love / hate relationship. There are definitely some good things about a pally, and some things I would like to see changed. Then again most classes feel that way. Since the beginning days of WoW and running WC I have progressed all the way through to exploring the Molten Core, Blackwing Lair, and Ahn'Qiraj.

This guide goes through everything you need to know about being a Paladin in the World of Warcraft based on what I have learned playing the class.

Hope you enjoy, and as always, if you have your own comments or suggestions I would love to add them to the guide. Send them to messiah@tentonhammer.com.

  • World of Warcrack?

Now, addiction is a pretty serious word - in a nutshell, it means you can't function without - that you'll forego worthy needs and ambitions (food, minimal sleep, work) to do something a normal, healthy person doesn't need to do. With that in mind, let's look at Twitch Expert's interview with a self-proclaimed gaming addiction expert, Dr. Maressa Orzack.

RW: According to your research, and your experience with patients, how many addicted gamers are there today?

Orzack: Well, let's take World of Warcraft as an example. Let's say there are around 6 million subscribers for the game. I'd say that 40 percent of the players are addicted.

Well, her figures don't sound scientific, but let's say they are. 40% addicted and about 40% are playing at level 60, coincidence?

In all seriousness, we all know a gamer whose priorities are severely messed up. Real life first, gents and gent-ettes.

  • All You Need To Know About Naxxramas

We here at WoW – Ten Ton Hammer present an exciting new guide on the latest instance in World of Warcraft, Naxxramas! This dungeon is full of undead creatures waiting to assault the Eastern Kingdoms. These powerful monsters are still holding their own, as currently no guild has fully purged the floating citadel of the Scourge's filth. Currently our guide contains all of the information you need to know about Naxxramas along with a complete guide to the first boss in the Spider Wing, Anub'Rekhan. As we get more information, both first hand and from the community, we will be updating the guide with more tactics on more bosses. So be sure to check back often!

"Getting to Anub'Rekhan is easy for most guilds. Heading into the Spider Wing (the area with spiders, conveniently enough) simply pull spider packs and take them out. There is generally no complicated tactic for them yet, other then "DON'T LET THEM KILL THE RAID". A good tip in this instance would take the pointy end of your sword and stab it into the icky spiders. Those without swords can heal those who have them or cleanse the various poisons that the spiders like to apply to people."

  • Race to Complete New Content

Game updates come and go, the heated debate of one patch slowly simmers down as the next update arrives onto player's plates. Each game update provides tons of new things for players to do, from new enemies to slay to new things to blame for someone's defeat. That's why this week we take a look at the various updates in World of Warcraft's history, highlighting the ups and downs of major update milestones.

"Outside of the highly anticipated excitement of the battlegrounds and PvP honor were the various instances that were added. Blackwing Lair, AQ, and Naxxaramas are all big deals among those who enjoy raiding. Players scrambled before the patches to ready themselves to become the first to complete content in these instances. Not only that, but each added instance (including Dire Maul and ZG) provided a wealth of new items and skills that greatly helped those who enjoy making their characters more and more powerful."

Keep reading to learn more about the history of added content. Head over to the forums at WoW Ten Ton Hammer and let is know what you think about updates and patches.
