Norrath's Hobbiton Made Habitable
Most of the common hunting grounds for the Everquest 2 mid-to-late 30s / early 40s crowd are miserably mundane or downright terrifying. For those that are finding Zek is a bad joke, that the Enchanted Lands & Runnyeye are reminiscent of the "newbie gardens" of EQLive fame, but that Cazic Thule and Lavastorm produce shards faster than Tim Horton's makes coffee (word to the Canadians!), Rivervale is the place to be.
And we can tell you how to make the most of your time there! A detailed list of where to find the best quests on your first pass, a map, mob list, and more awaits you... make the most of your time in Rivervale! Our resident halfling gives this report, live from the scene:
"Rivervale (RV), once a peaceful halfling habitat, now finds its environs corrupted by a mysterious evil. Bixies, a longtime enemy, are just the rather mild tip of the evil iceburg. Corrupted dryads, tree spirits, forest creatures, and the penultimate Rivervale villains, the demon-like Nightbloods and their female mates, the Lamias.
Now that Enchanted Lands no longer requires completion of an access quest / boat ride, you might be tempted to go to Rivervale in your 20s and early 30s. Don't, unless you're grouped with a number of high level friends. Rivervale makes shards of unwary adventurers as fast as Planter's makes peanuts.
From the mid-30s on, however, you'll find that Rivervale offers some of the best group-for-experience opportunities in the game. "
