What is the central story of Tabula Rasa and where does the player fit into it all?

Tabula Rasa™ is a massively multiplayer online action game that takes you into the heat of battle at the frontlines of an epic war between a xenophobic alien race bent on galactic conquest and the coalition of rebel soldiers who’ve traveled across the galaxy to stop them.

Combining the action of a shooter and the immersion of a role-playing game, Tabula Rasa takes the player on an intergalactic adventure where the individual has an opportunity to significantly impact the pace of battle on a global scale. Players enter the game as rebel soldiers wielding a variety of futuristic weapons, potent demolitions and the mystical power of “Logos.” It is up to each individual to use their stealth, ingenuity and skill to assist a ragtag coalition of rebels in their efforts to stop an enemy known for its intelligence and unyielding determination to enslave the Universe.

  • Jose Araiza answers some questions on the launch of The Serpent Spine has posted an interview with Jose Araiza. In this interview they talk abotu how things went with the launch of the latest expansion Serpent Spine. This expansion also includes a new race, the Drakkin and basically, with new race and new content path to level 75, invites new players to try out EQ. Have you seen an upswing in new subscribers or much re-activation of dormant accounts?

Jose Araiza: Yes, we actually started seeing this upswing when we launched the Progression Server. That was the start, and it seems The Serpent's Spine continued the trend because of what you just mentioned. I also think the new changes to downtime had some part to play in this.

  • SOE's Chris Lena Chats About the Progression Servers was able to do another Q&A With Chris Lena recently. This interview looks mainly at teh furture of the Progression Servers... How are the Progression servers doing? Are there still plans for an eventual merging?

Chris Lena: Both of the servers are still going amazingly well with their populations continuing to exceed that of a normal server. I would expect some loss as some players return to their regular play servers and especially once the progression portion is completed. In other words, I still imagine their will be a merge but we are still a long way away.

  • New Preview Posted

The folks over at Tabula Rasa have posted a preview of the forthcoming game on their official site. The preview takes a look at the history of the game, back-story, key features and what we can expect in the near future.

Throughout my massive multiplayer online gaming some of the best moments I’ve experienced were feelings of being a part of a massive war in Sony’s MMOFPS – Planetside. After finishing with Planetside, I started playing World of Warcraft and invested some serious time (3 level 60’s later…). Because of the exposure to both games I couldn’t help feeling that there was room for a game that offered a true feeling of “massive conflict” and shooter style combat whilst having the character depth, questing and classes of a more traditional MMO. You can imagine then, when I found a link to the Tabula Rasa website I was quite excited by the prospect. A Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) which used First Person Shooter (FPS) style combat!
