Tabula Rasa + EverQuest II + Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning + Lord of the Rings Online News

  • Make Your Character All It Can Be With Traits...

On the Lord of the Rings Online Site today, the trait system was unveiled and explained. Taking more steps to let you make your character unique is always good...

In The Lord of the Rings Online™: Shadows of Angmar™, a Trait is an interchangeable ability that alters your character in some fashion. Traits allow a great deal of skills customization, so two characters of the same class and the same level can still be significantly different from each other depending on how their players have used Traits to modify their character's skills.

  • All hail the once and future content king...

EQ2 might not have the mindblowing scrip numbers, but man can that SOE team churn out the added content. The "Fallen Dynasty" adventure pack, available by digital download, offers seven new Asian-themed zones and plenty more adventure for players from level 55-70.

In The Fallen Dynasty, players journey to a secluded island with a dark past, inhabited by rival families and an ancient order of monks known as the Whistling Fist Clan. The forsaken city of Tanaan once thrived here until its people's lust for knowledge led them to their own destruction when they arrogantly challenged the mighty guardian of Zebuxoruk's secrets. Now, courageous adventurers are needed to drive back the bloodthirsty Pirates of Gunthak invading the village's shores, thirsty for conquest, lost wealth, and the mysterious power hidden beneath the island's tranquil surface.

It's sure to wet your high-level Norrathian whistle while we all wait for retail expansion "Echoes of Faydwer" towards the end of this year. To see the "Fallen Dynasty" press release in it's entirety: click here

  • All the information you need packed into one tiny little space. Miracles of modern technology will never cease to amaze me.

Developed in conjunction with SOE’s Taiwan studio, the recently announced Adventure Pack, The Fallen Dynasty™, promises to deliver the same downloadable story-rich content seen in the previously released The Bloodline Chronicles and The Splitpaw Saga, but this time with Asian influenced adventure zones, weapons, tradeskill rewards, as well as all new quests for the high level EverQuest II player.

To prepare for the anticipated June 14th launch of The Fallen Dynasty, Design Supervisor Matt Higby, ventured to the SOE SOGA studios in Taiwan to meet the team, sync up the specs, and witness the progression of our first internationally produced Adventure Pack! In order to give a better understanding and background to this project, we interviewed Matt about his travels and experiences at SOGA. An avid photographer, Matt also provided some remarkable photos of his travels.

  • No, this is not a report on fashion. (Yes, I thought it may have been.)

Welcome to the latest issue of The Green Robe Gazette, a periodic report of the events and happenings brought to you by the green-robed Guides of EQ2. The Gazette will bring you reports of past events, news of upcoming events and any information regarding the Guide Program and how it affects the world of Norrath.

The events listed below do not (by any means) comprise all of the events that are happening across the servers. They just a sampling of what's going on (Translation: "We have screenshots of these events so we'll post them"). Thanks for reading.

You can read the rest right here.

  • The Crier is here and as always, Ten Ton Hammer has a ton of content for your viewing pleasure.

    Town Crier!
Hark! Be that the Town Crier I spy? He brings us tidings from the far reaches of Norrath's influence. Be they dismal, strange, or otherwise? Let us observe as he waxes eloquent about current affairs.

    # The Town Crier visited with Aggro Me, the one and only overnuker. He told stories of wealth and fortune…well not really, but he did share some enlightenment from his memoirs in "Good Morning Norrath".
    # In the far off land of Caster's Realm the Town Crier ran into familiar faces who were happy to discuss the recent activities, news, and even comedy. Bouvi shared the latest EQII Comic "Learning The Hard Way", Jethal told all about why we should " Keep The Range in Ranger", and Kendricke shared some never before seen "Profession Hats".
    # Ten Ton Hammers are fairly heavy to lug around all day and thankfully the Town Crier doesn't have to do that. So the Town Crier paid a visit to those that do wield the Ten Ton Hammer and found entertainment and enlightenment. Spending time with Coyote was great and he even shared with us how to "Win a Date with Coyotee Sharptongue". For those who seek more enlightenment the Town Crier advises you to check out the new and improved information in "The Splitpaw Saga Zone Guide", "Half Elf Racial Guide",and the "Human Racial Guide".

You can visit the town crier here.

MYTHIC AND GOA PARTNER TO STORM EUROPE WITH WARHAMMER® ONLINE: AGE OF RECKONING™

France Telecom Online Publisher to publish and operate WAR across Europe

FAIRFAX, VA - JUNE 6, 2006 - Mythic Entertainment, a leading developer and publisher of massively-multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPG’s), today announced Warhammer® Online: Age of Reckoning™ (WAR) will be published and operated across Europe by GOA, the France Telecom-owned publisher of online games. GOA has successfully operated Dark Age of Camelot in Europe with Mythic since 2001. WAR is based on Games Workshop’s popular Warhammer® fantasy war game and features next generation Realm vs. Realm™ (RvR) game play that will immerse players in a world of perpetual conflict. WAR will arrive on the PC simultaneously in the US and Europe in the fall of 2007.

“The initial partnership between Mythic and GOA resulted in Dark Age of Camelot being the number one MMORPG in Europe for many years,” said Mark Jacobs, CEO and President of Mythic Entertainment. “With WAR our goal is nothing less than to take Europe by storm and regain that leadership position in the European market.”

“We are thrilled to be partners with Mythic again and build on the five-year relationship and experience that we’ve been enjoying with their team,” commented Ghislaine Le Rhun, Senior Vice President of GOA. “Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning has tremendous potential and we intend to treat the game with all the care it deserves. • Honestly, you couldn't follow Elves up with anything other than Hobbits.

There are few recorded deeds of Hobbits until late in the Third Age of Middle-earth, which is just the way Hobbits would prefer it. They are simple, quiet folks, preferring to dwell in hillside holes in and around the area known as The Shire in western Eriador. Called "Halflings" by some due to their size relative to Men, these small folk enjoy the peaceful endeavours of farming, eating, and gift giving, rather than concerning themselves with the dangerous affairs of the rest of Middle-earth (save the legends of Hobbit bowmen in the wars of Fornost). In these dark days, however, it is the unassuming Hobbits, with their often surprising adeptness of both word and action, that will have the greatest impact in the war between the Free Peoples and the lengthening Shadow from the North.

From the most modest of beginnings, Hobbits are capable of the grandest of deeds. Their nimbleness and quick-thinking are well documented of course, but Hobbits are not to be underestimated. Hobbits, although small in size relative to the other races, are sturdy of body, determined in their actions, and good with bow or knife (when they have to be). Their small frame belies a toughness and spirit of a capable adventurer in the lands of Middle-earth.

Classes available to the Race of Hobbits: Guardian, Minstrel, Hunter, Burglar

Is it just me or is it good to see the true race being represented?

  • The official site has the newest in playable races available for your perusal. Evles are the topic this week.

Throughout the ages, the deeds and struggles of the noble race of Elves have been entwined with the very history of Middle-earth. They remember all too well the devastation caused by the tides of evil that once darkened the land - a shadow which threatens to do so once again. In ages past, the Elves divided into many different groups, and settled throughout Middle-earth, primarily in the ancient forested realms where they yet live. Tall and strong, fair and graceful, Elves have keen senses and a deep affinity for the beauty of the natural world around them. Elves do not "die" in the way understood by Men; Elves often live in the lands of Middle-earth for thousands of years, suffering neither the effects of time nor disease, though the body of an Elf may be struck down in battle. At the end of their days in Middle-earth, the Elves travel to unknown realms across the western sea.

Long ago, the Elves welcomed the "younger" races of Middle-earth and allied with them when the need was great, but centuries of war, betrayal, and hardship have made them fiercely protective of their seclusion. Now, as the Third Age draws to a close and the War of the Ring is at hand, the Elves are once again stirring from their forested realms and hidden valleys, allying with the Free Peoples of Middle-earth against the darkness which grows from both the North and East.

Classes available to the Race of Elves: Champion, Guardian, Minstrel, Hunter, Lore-Master

You know you want to play an Elf.
