    Interview with Chris McKibbin

WarCry has just updated their site with an interview that looks at Gods and Heroes after last week's SOE Gamer Day.
"Far more people know the fiction of mythology than any license," McKibbin pointed out during our demo. It's something most people don't think of when they see a game like Gods and Heroes, but it's a valid point.

Interview with Stieg Hendlund, Design Director of Perpetual's Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising

GamersInfo updated their site today with this Gods and Heroes: Rome Rising Interview.

"We decided to go with a hybrid loot system. We'll have both random loot and targeted loot - items you know will drop from a specific creature - but the rest will be completely variable. The idea is to find rewards that you can use right away, others you'll want to save for later and still others that will be used to sell for money. The loot isn't tied to the person looting it, either. There's every chance you'll find something completely useless for you but very useful for a friend."

Updated Q&A - Classes, Feats, and More Combat

Gamespot had a chance to sit down with Design director Stieg Hedlund. Find out what they were able to learn about Gods and Heroes: Rome Rising.

GameSpot: Gods & Heroes tries to be different from most other massively multiplayer online role-playing games when it comes to its player-versus-environment combat. Could you detail some of the differences for us?

Stieg Hedlund: Going into the project, we really felt that the sense of entertainment in massively multiplayer role-playing combat needed to be seriously amped up. Instead of following what other games in our category were doing, we took games such as Soul Calibur as our models and really went for it.

Interview with Chris McKibbin and Stieg Hedlund

WarCry has posted an interview they had recently with Stieg Hedlund, Design Director of Gods and Heroes, and Chris McKibbin, President and Co-Founder of Perpetual Entertainment.

WarCry: As mythology plays such a large role in the game’s story, characters and enemies, how much leeway do you have for new monsters and ideas that don’t necessarily jibe with the history and legends of Rome?

McKibbin & Hedlund: The majority of monsters and creatures found in most western fictions actually have their roots in myth, so there are very few monster/creature types that we can’t find some basis for in our setting.
