Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising is an MMORPG set in the world of ancient Rome where gods are as commonplace as monsters and other creatures of myth. In the game, you take the role of a demi-god, the son or daughter of one of the great gods. In playing you choose which god of the pantheon you will ally yourself with and gain the powers and abilities associated with that god.

Although the only race available at launch will be human, each character can pick from these six classes: Soldier, Gladiator, Mystic, Priest, Scout and Nomad. Players will also choose from two gods associated with each class: Soldiers can serve Minerva or Mars; Gladiators serve Fortuna or Jupiter; Scouts serve Diana or Apollo; Nomads serve Nemesis or Mercury; Priests serve Juno or Pluto; and Mystics serve Trevia or Bacchus.

Gods & Heroes was initially under development by the now defunct Perpetual Entertainment. The game was thought lost until Heatwave Interactive acquired the rights in February, 2010. Gods & Heroes launched on July 21st, 2011.

  • Larvae in History
    By Charabis

Come join me as I take a look at the Larvae. See what these malevolent spirits were really like, and how people dealt with them in the old days :)

So fearsome were these spirits, that the feast of the Lemures, also known as the Lemuria, was held. On May 9, 11, and 13 in the Julian calendar, they would attempt to exorcise these malevolent spirits from their homes.

  • Sure, but what about their mother? They always forget their poor mother! No respect!

Mars was considered father of the Roman people, progenitor of Romulus.

    newest guide!

On Palatine Hill the temple of Mars stood, originally it was
the residence of the pre-republic kings of Rome. His tokens of the

  • I wouldn't say lazy... more like work-averse.

Ever wonder just what was in all those Gods and Heroes beta journals Perpetual released, but were too lazy to look for yourself? Well there's no need to fear! Here at Ten Ton Hammer, we've made it easy by rounding up the best the journals have to offer, and bringing it to you!
