Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising is an MMORPG set in the world of ancient Rome where gods are as commonplace as monsters and other creatures of myth. In the game, you take the role of a demi-god, the son or daughter of one of the great gods. In playing you choose which god of the pantheon you will ally yourself with and gain the powers and abilities associated with that god.

Although the only race available at launch will be human, each character can pick from these six classes: Soldier, Gladiator, Mystic, Priest, Scout and Nomad. Players will also choose from two gods associated with each class: Soldiers can serve Minerva or Mars; Gladiators serve Fortuna or Jupiter; Scouts serve Diana or Apollo; Nomads serve Nemesis or Mercury; Priests serve Juno or Pluto; and Mystics serve Trevia or Bacchus.

Gods & Heroes was initially under development by the now defunct Perpetual Entertainment. The game was thought lost until Heatwave Interactive acquired the rights in February, 2010. Gods & Heroes launched on July 21st, 2011.

  • Better Late Than Never

  • Mystical Video

RPG Vault has Peek #7 at Perpetual Entertainment's upcoming MMOG, Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising. In this video, Design Director Stieg Hedlund provides a profile of the Mystic class:

Scions of Bacchus or Trevia, Mystics have mastered the arcane arts of elemental sorcery and necromancy, enabling them to cast such spells as Numinous Flame, which launches a destructive fire bolt, and Miasma, which infects the target with a deadly plague.

  • People, goblins, sea turtles...whatever.

Perhaps the strangest thing to come out of MMOGs is the close
relationships that can form between people. Sometimes, those bonds go
beyond mere friendship, and evolve into something much more...or do they?

Even should this not be the case and they really are
falling for you, how much do you really know about them? I've had many
friends go to meet someone they met online, with less than spectacular
results. One thought he was meeting a beautiful, 21-year-old girl. He
