Developed by Honor Games International, Immortals is a fantasy-themed 3D MMORPG that has been imported to the Western marketplace through a company called New Games World. The game is based on and encompasses 5,000 years of Chinese mythology that players can explore and interact with. Players can choose between four customizable races - Demon, Dragon, Deity and Human - and engage in combat with players of the opposing faction.

In Immortals, each race has its own stylized artwork and specialized home city - for example the Deities can fly and the Dragons live in an underwater realm - that players can engage in. The game is filled with quests, unique titles, and a fame system. Players can also receive a pet that players can start to raise and eventually are able to ride their pets at level 20.

Another game where you can play with mythology. Cool.

Although much of our fantasy literature (and games) are based on the ancient myths of the western world - Celtic, Greek, Roman, Norse - but rarely do we delve into the Asian mythology. An upcoming MMOG, Immortals, is vying to change that trend. The ever word-wise Jonric has posted up a recent Q&A he did with Immortals team member Tim Scheepers, and it's fairly informative.

Screenshot Goodness Coming Your Way

The folks that are localizing the upcoming Asian-imported MMOG, Immortals, have decided that they're getting close to the end of their development cycle and have advanced the game to open beta status. According to the press release announcing the event, any character made during open beta will remain active after the game goes live. Along with their press release, Ten Ton Hammer has also posted three screenshots for you to view. Enjoy!

New MMOG Revealed, Screenshots Included

It looks remarkably like World of Warcraft.

This one slipped past everyone's radar. A company named New Game World Inc. has issued a press release discussing the imminent "Not-So-Closed" beta of their upcoming free-to-play MMOG, Immortals. Based in ancient Chinese mythology, Immortals will feature four playable races and encompass over 5,000 years of epic myths and legends. Always providing for the reader, Ten Ton Hammer has snatched up the press released and several released screenshots.
