Kicks Online is an MMOG that centers around the game of football (soccer in the US). With over 300,000 registered users since its inception, Kicks Online has certainly made a splash in Korea where it was released in July 2006. In Kicks, players engage each other in competitions of street football, with each person taking up a different position on the soccer team. Matches are split into 3v3, 4v4 or 5v5 events, and players can compete in very untraditional arenas such as roofs, streets or factories.

Players in Kicks can choose between three different positions, each of which has its own particular strengths and weaknesses. The positions are split into the Forward, Midfielder and Defender delegations, and each position will require special skills and training enabling you to take on the other team.

• Forward: (FW) a character up front in the opposition’s goal area, with outstanding running, dribbling, shooting abilities. Practically responsible for scoring the goals.
• Midfielder: (MF) taking some skills from both forwards and defenders, he has the duty of stealing the ball from the opposing team, to feed it to the striker and perhaps even score.
• Defender: (DF) Characters whose position is behind midfielders and mainly provide support to the goalkeeper. They are good at stealing, tackling, and heading the ball and their primary function is to prevent opponents from scoring a goal.

Players can work on abilities such as running, stealing, endurance, tackle, quickness, heading, keeping, short shooting, dribble, long shots, cross, short pass, long pass, bodychecking, goalkeeping, punching and defense. Depending on the amount of training, equipment, the gamer's control skills, along with strategies and other factors and many other skills will be determined. The more you play, the more skilled your character will become. Each position will allow a player to acquire specific skills and training that can be used against opposing teams.
