The cosmetic system is very flexible. It's easy to collect interesting, appealing outfits, and the player is not limited by class, level or reputation restrictions, provided he has one character that meets the specifications of the desired item. It's not enough to be good at something if you look like a dork doing it.

Bree-town is more or less the central social hub of the Lord of the Rings Online. But at times, the surface streets can be crowded. Well, surface streets are for suckers. Real adventurers travel by rooftop.

Update 3: Lost Legends of Eriador - a LotRO Play Session with the Devs

Everybody likes new stuff. We like new stuff even when the "old stuff" is really not that old. This goes as much for the Lord of the Rings Online as for anything else. Update 2: Echoes of the Dead hasn't been out that long, and Turbine is already geared up and ready to launch Update 3: Lost Legends of Eriador near the end of May.

North American players will see this new content on May 23, and the EU crowd can expect to see it when the European operations are migrated to Turbine's new Global Service after June 1, when the Global Service goes live. And while Update 3 is not as massive as Update 2 was, it's still pretty sweet, and the devs were eager to show off their handiwork in a hectic playsession.

Sony downtime continues this week as additional security work on Playstation Network, Qriocity and Sony Online Entertainment systems remains in testing. Details of 2500 contest entrants were leaked and removed from a dated Sony website last week following rumored reports of a weekend attack. Is Sony secure enough to have services restored by the end of the month as many speculate?

On February 22nd, 2011, the creators of EverQuest II, released the game's seventh expansion, Destiny of Velious. In a genre that sees more flops than wins these days, and during a time that marks a disturbing trend of major titles going free-to-play before the dust even settles the pretty release packages, EQ2 is still going strong. Being able to claim such a feat is more than just an accomplishment in this market, it is a full fledged badge of established game honor that very few get to claim.

Two heads are also scarier than one.

The Scars of Velious was one of the most popular expansions for the original EverQuest so the EQ2 team had a lot to live up to when it came to delivering these beloved zones and characters to the world of Norrath once again. With stiff competition this gaming season and plenty of player of nostalgia to live up to, did SOE manage to hit the mark in this veteran game? Patched, locked, and loaded I hopped into game to see what DoV has to offer.
