Dreamfall Chapters is the long-awaited third installment of Ragnar Tørnquist’s The Longest Journey series that continues the story that began with The Longest Journey and its sequel, Dreamfall: The longest Journey. The game will feature three playable characters with intertwining stories that will take place across the twin worlds of Stark and Arcadia. The two worlds feature venues that include a futuristic cyberpunk vision of our world to a realm of powerful magic and dangerous beauty.
The series has been hailed by many as one of the best adventure games ever made, and fans have for years been requesting a follow-up to the story. They finally got their wish in February 2013 after Ragnar Tørnquist founded his new studio, Red Thread Games, and announced the launch of a Kickstarter campaign to develop Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey. The game was fully funded in just over a week and ended with nearly twice its initial target goal of funding.
