  • The MasterMinds of Auto Assault

Looking for information on summoning robots out of thin air? Well, you’ve found the right place. Kind of. Auto Assault @ TenTonHammer now has all of the skills for the Master Mind class documented in our Biomek section. Things like summoning robots, debuffing the enemy, buffing your buddies, and others are included in our new Master Mind section.

Perhaps most dangerous of all, MasterMinds have the ability to create (from scrap) a robot army of various size and composure. These semi-intelligent robots act on orders of the MasterMind alone, and can take on any number of roles. They cannot think for themselves (unlike Biomeks), but will follow any order given - even to destroy themselves.

So why not drive on down to Auto Assault @ TenTonHammer and take a look?

  • Follow this sage advice!

Want to become an expert spell slinger in Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach (DDO)? Darkgolem has the guide for you! Be the life of the party! Be the envy of all your friends! Be pop-pop-POPULAR!

Ahem. Well, okay, we can't guarantee good parties or friends suffering from spell caster envy, but we can promise that using good tactics will make you a sought-after group member. In a game where grouping is the only way to advance, popularity's not such a bad thing.

Using good tactics may be more important for spell casters than any other classes. This is because spell casters can affect the largest amount of targets at once. A badly placed spell can turn an easy fight into a struggle for survival for your whole party. However, a skillful spell caster, backed by a party of adventurers who work well together, can handle combat much more dangerous than normal.

  • If Orgrimmar is the Horde capital, is Las Vegas the who... nevermind.

We begin a new series of quick takes on World of Warcraft's most popular and most travelled cities and regions today with a veritable tour guide for Orgrimmar at WoW TenTonhammer. A little bit of the city's history, how each of the Horde races can get to Orgrimmar from their starting areas, an easy-to-read map (no little numbers), and a quest listing for the city, sorted by level. It's all here!

A much easier way to find your way around town is to talk with the guards, the Orgrimmar Grunts. They'll mark many popular locations right on your minimap and full map, and point you the way. However, note the reagent vendor and orcish mount (wolf) vendor. These are two sought-after locations that you can't ascertain from a guard. (Troll mounts can be found at Sen'jin Village in southern Durotar.)

Don't look like a noob in general chat - check WoW - TenTonHammer's Orgrimmar city guide!

  • All the News DDO Newbs Can Use!

At last it's here, the long-anticipated launch of Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach. The good news is, MMOG gamers now have a whole new world full of adventures to explore. The bad news is, unless you've played the beta or you have some knowledge of Dungeons & Dragons, the tabletop game, DDO may make you feel like a bit of a newb. Well, buck up, little camper! We've assembled a collection of articles to help guide you in the right direction.

Let’s face it; we live in a gaming era ruled by World of Warcraft (WoW). No other massively-multiplayer online game (MMOG) can boast over 5 million players. And arguably, the secret to WoW’s success is the ease with which the game is played. But Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach (DDO), released today by Turbine, Inc., is not a WoW clone. In fact, it’s not an anything clone; it is very much its own unique game.

Given that, there will probably be a bit of a learning curve for those who venture into Stormreach expecting a garden variety MMOG. Yes, you’ll still find quest NPCs conveniently marked. Sure, the game has city maps to help you get from point A to point B. Of course there’s a brief tutorial to help you get the hang of wielding a weapon and slinging spells. But, beyond that, don’t expect DDO to be “easy.” It’s a whole new world.

  • Love and marriage... go together like a rogue and pwnage?

Today is the last look at this month's topic for Tuesday's Take - Virtual Love & Marriage at Vanguard - TenTonHammer.

Who doesn't love to hear stories of couples falling in love, virtual or real? Are they all lovely stories with happy endings or are some more like something from a bad dream? I believe like anything, there are the good and the bad.

  • Not Since Driver's Ed Movies Have You Seen Such Carnage!

It's launch day for Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach and Turbine, Inc. has unleashed their game, Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach on the public...but not without a stern warning. Consider this video a bit of tough love; a public service announcement, if you will. Massively-multiplayer online gamers who don't take Turbine's message seriously could find themselves injured or worse. What's it going to take to end the senseless brutality?

Download the video at DDO @ TenTonHammer and witness the savage truth!

  • There's a new class on the official site. Lore-master hits the stage in a blaze of glory!

    Lore-master
    Races: Man, Elf

'This only would he say, that Imladris was of old the name among the Elves of a far northern dale, where Elrond the Halfelven dwelt, greatest of lore-masters.'

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, "The Council of Elrond"

A keeper of ancient lore and otherwise lost knowledge, the Lore-master uses his knowledge of the lesser and greater powers of the world around him to stave off the advances of the shadow for a time, and to treat the wounds and suffering of his companions. In dire need he can use this knowledge to hurt his foes; but this task being extremely difficult, a wise Lore-master would rarely attempt it.

The Lore-master will be the class of choice for the player that enjoys using the power of ancient lore to aid their allies and hinder their foes. Steeped in the histories of Middle-earth Lore-masters are able to aid their fellows in recovering from maladies caused by the forces of the Dark Lord. They can also use their knowledge to daze, harm, or hinder their enemies, as well as give of themselves to strengthen another. Some Lore-masters are even said to be able to communicate with animals and request their aid. A Lore-master's combat style is anchored in the power of knowledge and using it intelligently to defeat evil.

    Eeeevilllll!

  • Take out your rubber chicken and clown shoes?

    Caption Contest! - 2/27/06
The archivists here at the RPSA have been going through many of the submissions from the past, cackling and whooping as they came up with oddball quotes describing the situations our past winners found themselves in. As nutty as our archivists are, we think you can do better! From Friday, February 27 to March 15, players can submit clever captions for any of the past RPSA winners pictured below -- we'll pick the best one for each picture! The winners of this contest will each receive a prize package consisting of a Sony PSP handheld gaming system and a SanDisk's Memory Stick PRO Duo™. Take out your rubber chickens and clown shoes -- it's time to make us laugh!

You can go here to find out more. I'd do it for the PSP. I need something to occupy my downtime while I can't get onto my server!
