  • What Does it Take to Impress a Messiah?

Having had a chance to play 2.3 last night on his guild's Karazhan night, our WoW community manager, Byron "Messiah" Mudry, wanted to throw up a quick first impressions comment from a Paladin tank's perspective.

I know most of the changes have nothing to do with a Paladin and even those that do are mainly focused on the Retribution Paladin tree. However, some things did effect my tankadin directly and other not so directly that I wanted to comment on.

  • Vivendi's stock price is like the energizer bunny on an upward trend...

In addition to game sales rising 19% last quarter for Vivendi, Gamasutra just announced that World of Warcraft has hit the 9.3 million player mark. It's like an unstoppable force of nature.

Publisher Vivendi has announced that its games division's sales have rised nearly 19 percent to 216 million euros ($315.2 million) in its third quarter, on the "continued momentum" of World of Warcraft and initial sales of Massive's World in Conflict.

  • China just got some good old American competition.

The N.C. State student newspaper is reporting on a local business that has set up shop near their campus. Instead of selling college staples like junk food or "tobacco pipes," however, they're selling a friendly neighborhood power-leveling service for World of Warcraft. It's amusing that almost every student quoted in the story thinks it's a silly business.

There's a new business set to open Thursday on Hillsborough Street, but this one doesn't sell food, books or print cartridges.
