Dark Age of Camelot joined the MMOG circuit in 2001 and has been a staple for many RvR enthusiasts. In gaming terms though, nine years of player subscriptions is a rare achievement.

  • Q&A with EA Mythic

WarCry has posted this interview with EA Mythic. It covers Dark Age of Camelot.

Our devs are dedicated to reviewing classes every patch, and looking for places where all classes need help. We don’t like to say what exactly is being looked at too far in advance, since things do tend to change, but we’re certainly not finished with class revamps yet. You’ll just have to keep an eye out for the notes on Pendragon, our test server.

  • Get to Know Dark Age of Camelot Developer, Howard Marans

MMORPG.com has posted another in a series of developer profiles for Dark Age of Camelot. This profile is focused on Howard Marans...

Howard Marans is an Associate Producer on Dark Age of Camelot at EA Mythic. In this edition of our weekly developer profiles, he gives us some insights into what it is to be a producer and how he got there.

MMORPG.com: Tell us a little bit about your life growing up. Where did you live, what did you do, did you go to school?

Howard Marans: I grew up in Rockville, Maryland. I went to college at Adelphi University in New York, and graduated with a BS in Computer Science. Growing up, my first real job was as a lifeguard. I eventually became a lifeguard instructor as well as a Pool Manager.

  • Director of Community Relations chats about Labyrinth of the Minotaur

MMORPG.com has posted an interview with the Director of Community Relations for Dark Age of Camelot, Sanya Thomas. In this interview she dodges some questions the team just isn't ready to answer. Keep reading to see what the folks at MMORPG.com were able to learn.

EA Mythic's Director of Community Relations Sanya Thomas recently sat down with us for an interview on their recently announced Dark Age of Camelot expansion, Labyrinth of the Minotaur. Unfortunately, there were a few questions she was not yet ready to answer fully. Nonetheless, for those that cannot wait, here is what we learned.

MMORPG.com: Obviously, the idea of a cross-realm class and a cross-realm race is a departure for a game that has always been quite strictly segregated. Why did you choose to go a route that seemingly brings the three realms closer together?

Find out the answer to this question and more. When you're done with this interview, share your thoughts right here in the forums at Ten Ton Hammer.

  • All of these Mythic interviews, and nothing on Warhammer! /sigh
GamerGod speaks with the Community Relations folks at Mythic. What ensues is a whole lot of background info on Mythic and some mythifying comments on PvP in other games...

Jeff: It seems like, Worlds of Warcraft for example, they put PvP in, but the best way to do it Mythic has already done so they end up reinventing the wheel so to speak. In my opinion, and I shouldn’t comment on WoW, I don’t mean to catch you that way-

Sanya: But that game was not designed as a PvP game from the ground up. That was designed as a PvE game that they added PvP to as a separate system. With ours the whole game was designed from the beginning to be about RvR. When you try to add anything on after the fact, it is always going to be, well not awkward but it won’t be as seamless.
They do what they do very well, and I think we do what we do very well.
