World of Warcraft + The Agency Features

  • Guns! Spies! Leather!

MPOGD has a brand-new Agency preview for you all this morning.

Action! Adventure! Intrigue! Sony Online's Seattle office has been hard at work on an upcoming First-Person Shooter style MMO titled The Agency, which will offer players the chance to become spies. At E3, we got our first glimpse of the game, with a pre-rendered trailer we were told was in-game footage. It looked pretty darned nice.

    Take a look at MPOGD.com.

  • These aren't very covert spies.

WarCry has another new preview of the Agency.

E3's demonstration of The Agency was not altogether different from what we saw at SOE Gamer Day and SOE Seattle's Corey Dangel, an Art Director on the game, admitted that was intentional. They showed the same videos and gameplay, but unlike Gamer Day, E3 afforded (oh how the world has turned on its head) more of a chance to actually sit down and talk to them about their game.

  • Spies, spies everywhere.

IGN takes a fresh look at The Agency.

While Sony's The Agency will have its fair share of fetch quests, the fresh espionage setting, a breath of fresh air from the hundreds of fantasy- and space-themed online games, sets the stage for a little something different. Missions can be done solo or with a partner, though the latter is being touted as the preferred method. Teammates can revive fallen comrades as well as provide much more reliable cover fire than their AI counterparts.

  • Seriously, Blizzard... another troll instance? Just what WoW needs... ::eyeroll::

IGN has a preview of the upcoming WoW dungeon Zul'Aman, located in the Blood Elf starting area of the Ghostlands.

Along with fully integrated voice chat and guild vaults, the World of Warcraft team over at Blizzard will be adding a new outdoor 10-man dungeon called Zul'Aman in an upcoming patch. It's located in the south-east corner of the Ghostlands, an area ruled by Zul'jin and his Forest Trolls.

  • Shane Dabiri Interview

Play.tm posted an interview today with the Lead Producer of World of Warcraft.

Has the game evolved in ways that you didn't expect when it was first released?

In some ways it has, but the great advantage of working on an online game is that we can sometimes make some pretty broad changes as needed. One example that comes to mind was the original PvP Honor System. We thought players would enjoy the challenge and accomplishment of achieving the highest rank, but after receiving good feedback from the community we decided to change the system to better fit the play style of our customers.

It's been a momentous week for US developer Blizzard. And now, after thousands queued long into the cold winter night to get their mitts on the game at midnight openings across the world, millions of Warcraft players are enjoying the new continent of Outland and embarking on the long journey to level 70.
