  • Wednesday night (4/5/06) I was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time. NetDevil had their Auto Assault Meet & Greet a mere few hours away. Of course I was going to go!

I posted the link to the pictures that I took while I was there yesterday. Now.. you get the full scoop!

Take fifty of the biggest Auto Assault fans in Colorado and put them in one room. What do you get? You get a great party with lots of great stories. Last night was the last meet & greet for Auto Assault fanatics before the April 11th launch. Gamers came from all over Colorado for a chance to meet the NetDevil team.

Luckier than most, I was able to get a quick tour of the premises where this great title is being developed before the festivities began in earnest at the Buffalo Wild Wings.

  • Er, what I meant to say was the Watching Stone. It's a new bestiary update for you today.

Statues throughout Middle-earth are not always what they seem. The very stone of some statues hold the trapped spirit of malice within, crafted by the Dark Lord long ago with skilled workmanship and dark ritual. These ominous statues act as sentries and alarms within the realm of Angmar and throughout the lands corrupted by the shadow. Within many of the ruins throughout Eriador and Arnor, in lands once controlled by the darkness of Mordor's reach, these watchers remain, ever-vigilant even after centuries of abandonment.

  • This summer the City of Heroes comic will be going bi-monthly and heading in an exciting new creative direction!

After completing the storyline involving the Heroes of W.I.S.D.O.M., the comic will switch from three issue arcs to single issue, self-contained stories that focus directly on events that have happened, are happening or will happen in the City of Heroes game itself.

To celebrate this new direction we are kicking off a Comic Book Storyline Contest! All players will be able to submit a single story concept - the winner’s idea will be turned into a script by Sean “Manticore” Fish. This contest will begin in early May, so start thinking of ideas now! Stay tuned for more details.

If you love getting those comics in the mail this is good news indeed!

Listen up Auto Assault players! Tabula Rasa is looking for a few elite road warriors!

The Allied Free Sentient forces need your combat skills to go up against an enemy that has ravaged and enslaved star systems across the galaxy. How do you enlist in this desperate struggle? Be among the first 200 Auto Assault players to sign up for a monthly subscription after the free 30-day trial and you'll be entered into a chance to strap on body armor and high-tech weapons in the Tabula Rasa closed beta.

The contest begins on Auto Assault launch day and ends 31 days after.

Notification of approved enlistments will be sent out starting May 15 via email. It's very important that you make sure your PlayNC account email is up to date (watch that spam filter!). • To the Surface! For Humanity!

In Auto Assault, Ark Bay 313 is where all new recruits to Hestia Corporation’s freelancer program begin. It serves as the first zone any new Human player visits. We have a full walkthrough on this mini-highway, including maps and quest details. So grab your keys and hop in your ride, it’s Scav crushing time!

Ark Bay 313 is the “starting location” for new Human players. It’s a "mini-highway" designed to introduce you to the game. It’s separate from the actual Auto Assault world. Players are placed in the mini-highway and given a series of introduction tasks, so that when they leave they can be able to play the game without to much of a hitch. During this section of the game there is little risk of the player’s vehicle getting totaled. While there is combat, it’s placed with the player having a huge advantage in the fights.

You can view our human race startup walkthrough at AutoAssault - TenTonHammer.

  • Tapping into the PvP mindset.

In a departure from our usual weekly Common Content editorials, we've got a treat for you this week. Tap, a long-time Guild Wars community member, brings us his opinion on the rampant problem of elitism in PvP. Almost all of us have felt the sting of exclusivity when it comes to GvG or Heroes Ascent, and all of us were "noobs" at one point.

To sum it up; rank does not equal player skill. Rank indicates dedication and time spent, and in my opinion, that’s it. One should not judge a player’s skill or talent based off of his rank. Give a ‘noob’ a chance; you might discover a very talented player who just hasn’t been given a break yet.

  • More help for World of Warcraft's first 12 levels!

Yesterday at WoW - TenTonHammer, we looked at the dwarf / gnome starting zone of Dun Morogh. Today it's only fair that we look at where orcs & trolls begin their journey: Durotar. This extensive guide describes the best way to work the 29 quests found in this level 1-12 starting region, and includes a touched-up map, some important tips for new adventurers, and even a little bit of lore!

Foreman Thazz'ril, on the eastern end of Valley of Trials, needs you to whip some "Lazy Peons" into shape. You've probably seen these guys lounging around; complete this quest to get Thazzril's Pick before tackling the Burning Blade Medallion quest from Zureetha (upon turning in the "Vile Familiars" quest) so you'll only have to crawl through the "Burning Blade Coven" cave once. Take the northern track through the cave to go straight to Yarog Baneshadow and collect the medallion.

Quests are fun, but backtracking isn't. Thinking of rolling an orc or troll alt in World of Warcraft? Just starting out? Let us streamline your early experience with the WoW @ TenTonHammer "Durotar" starting region guide!

  • The fastest 10 levels in World of Warcraft...

Unfortunately, they're also the first 10 levels. For those of you eager to get out of the starting region and on to the rest of the game, we offer a new series of guides dedicated to the starting regions of Azeroth. The first offers a map and a walkthrough for the 26 quests found in Dun Morogh, the starting area for all gnomes and dwarves.

You'll start your WoW career facing a dwarf named Sten Stoutarm, and he's offered you a pair of gloves in return for some wolf meat (Dwarven Outfitters). This one's fast and easy, as well as being a great way to become acquainted with your character's combat skills, so turn around and take out some wolves, any wolves will do. When you've met Sten's quota, head back to him to complete the quest, and accept two more: Coldridge Valley Mail Delivery and Glyphic Memorandum.

Prospective shorties: check out the TenTonHammer Dun Morogh starting region guide at WoW - TenTonHammer!
