  • Ten Ton Hammer's Guide to Naxxramas Updated

Within the depths of the dread Naxxramas lurks a master of the blade who has been corrupted by the Scourge. He now spends his day teaching new Death Knights the ways of the sword, creating new threats to Eastern Kingdoms on a daily basis. We've updated our Naxxramas guide to aid anyone in their noble quest to slay this evil known as Instructor Razuvious. Truly a master of the sword, he has the ability to nearly one hit anyone who stands in his way. Through trickery alone can you defeat this evil road block on your path to the terrifying lich, Kel'Thuzad.

"Mind Control is a spell that sits within the Priest's Shadow discipline and is rarely used within raid instances. However, this encounter requires a Priest to use Mind Control on one of Razuvious's understudies and uses them to attack Razuvious himself. This is because no matter the defense, Razuvious one to two hits anyone. This is why Shadow spec'd Priests are heavily desired for this encounter."

  • The Instance Guides Keep Coming!

Our latest instance guide covers the sprawling instance of Dire Maul currently under control by scary demons, a wacky Orge gang, and magic thirsty Elves. We've got a complete walkthrough of each of the three wings containing plenty of information to slay your enemies and get through this instance quickly and efficiently!

"Dire Maul is located in the middle of Feralas, along the northern border. The entrance is guarded by the fierce Gordok Orges. This isn't a problem as most of them are low level and easily avoidable. As for the entrances to each wing, the west and north entrances are all the way at the very northern tip of the courtyard while the east entrance is toward the eastern side. The north and west wing are locked, requiring a key from the eastern wing to open (only one person needs to open it, the doors can be opened from the inside via a torch on the wall)."

  • Marco van Haren fills the community in on the current status of the Spellborn International team's fantasy-themed online world

RPG Vault has posted this interview with Marco van Haren. He talks about the plans for launching in the US, where they game has come over the past year and more.

According to the official site, closed beta has begun, with development on track toward launch in the second half of this year. Given this time frame, the team has been working to raise the title's visibility. As a result, we've learned a number of important facts during the past couple of months. For instance, we can see from the available visuals that the art direction is imaginative and stylish, and it's also known that the graphics will be delivered to our monitors by the Unreal technology. In addition, we can read some intriguing things about the design philosophy, one being that a player's strength in battle is determined by the skill with which a given weapon is used, not its inherent numerical characteristics. To see how this intriguing endeavor is progressing, we checked in with team member Marco van Haren.

Head over and read the rest of the interview. Are you looking forward to playing Chronicles of Spellborn? Share your thoughts with us right here in the forums at Ten Ton Hammer.

  • New WoW Starting Region Guide - Teldrassil

Teldrassil, a lonely yet hauntingly beautiful island in Northern Kalimdor, is where the Night Elves of the Alliance faction begin their story. At WoW - Ten Ton Hammer, we offer the "cliff's notes" to that story, tailored to young Night Elves who are eager to leave behind Teldrassil's claustrophobic confines and /dance straight into the action on the mainland.

"Quests in Teldrassil do an excellent job of "breadcrumbing" adventurers from place to place. Don't get bogged down chasing quest objectives; especially at early levels. Rather, accumulate as many quests as you can and look for ways to complete several objectives from more than one quest with one trip out of town. For example, you should speak with Gilshalan Windwalker and Dirania Silvershine in Ardrassil before heading towards Shadowthread Cave since both of their quests ("Webwood Venom" and "A Friend in Need") will progress based on things you'll find at or near the cave."

  • New Inofrmation Added

We've gone through our Scholomance guide and updated all of the information to better reflected recent instance changes. Everything from forming your group until the last boss fight has been looked over and updated with even more helpful information!

"When you first enter Scholomance you will find yourself on a set of stairs. This is a safe zone where you are free to buff up and get ready to fight. The entrance to the actual combat area is guarded by two Risen Warders so take those out and open the door. Quickly pull the patrols of Risen Warders who'll come up near the door, into the
room you first walk into. Next, go to the stairs and have your rogue/s sap some of the humanoids down to the left, and your mages sheep pull, deal with the humanoids. Avoid fighting in the main room area since some enemies have an AoE fear which can cause you to aggro several groups of enemies. It's best to fight on the stairs with your melee at the bottom and ranged at the top. Now deal with the group on the other side of the door on the bottom floor."

  • Wacky Crazy Waving Insane Opposite Day

There are always a discussion going on somewhere about what makes a good MMORPG. You will often find large threads on various message boards dedicated to this subject with replies ranging from "nerf shamans!" to "free ice cream!" The problem though is that we often ignore what makes a bad MMORPG. Sure rollercoasters, free ice cream, and the ability to instantly take out anyone in PvP combat could be fun but what if all of that includes soda pop ads that fill half the screen? That's why this week we take a look at what makes a bad MMORPG in our editorial, Wacky Crazy Waving Insane Opposite Day.

"You start out as an Elf in an Elven village called Legomolassesville. You will fight rats and other enemies that plague the land for hours on end to obtain level two where you will leave the Elven village for the mountains where the Dwarfs are. There you will mine copper for awhile. We all need to work hard. THEN PLOT TWIST.
As you are mining copper a spaceship flys down and picks you up. You hop aboard the spaceship and are like "WOAH I JUST SPENT TWO WEEKS BEATING MY HEAD AGAINST THE WALL THIS IS AWESOME OUT OF NOWHERE EXTREME" when all of a sudden MINI-GAME MANIA starts and you start mining copper AND killing rats while on the spaceship."

  • Ten Ton Hammer's Guide to Naxxramas Update

This week we bring you an all new update to our constantly evolving guide to Naxxramas. We've compiled a list of 1st hand tactics required to slay Noth the Plaguebringer, the first boss of the Plague Wing. Truly one of the hardest enemies in the game, Noth the Plaugebringer provides an excellent challenge and even better loot. Next up in our series of Naxxramas updates is Instructor Razuvious, so check back often for updates!

"The real challenge of this battle is the three spawn points that spawn elite enemies. You need to assign three groups (one for each spawn point) to contain these enemies. You need a Priest who can shackle the enemies, a Paladin (if available) to assist in bringing them to the tank (Exorcism), and finally a Mage to also help bring the
adds to a tank (warning though, they will 2-3 hit a person in cloth). Shamans can also be used to Frost/Earth shock the adds in order to bring them to that corners tank."

Keep reading to get ready to take on this encounter! Got a better tactic? Tried what was recommened? Let us know how it worked in the forums at WoW Ten Ton Hammer.
