  • Guild Wars @ TenTonHammer weighs in on fluff content.

The success of a game is based on it's playability. Sticking power, however, is partly from the little things--the hair-styles, the dyes, the clothes and the non-combat oriented combat. In short, the fluff! And Samyel over on Guild Wars - TenTonHammer thinks her game of choice could use a little more of the fluffy stuff.

t's not just the vanity issues, honestly. How about some game content that isn't so dang violent? We've got PvE and PvP... emphasis on the "V." What is there to do when we aren't bashing heads in? Go take a look around. Mostly, the non-combat game content of Guild Wars consists of trying to bully fellow players into sync dancing with you, hitting on girls who probably aren't real girls, and crying about getting WAY nerfed.

  • Competing for cash in an MMORPG?

Nope, we're not talking about two gold farmers dickering over a roll. The Guild Wars World Championship began this week in Taipei. Six teams representing three regions are competing for fame, glory, and the $100,000 grand prize. In this editorial, we take a look at the GWWC. Read about it at our Guild Wars @ TenTonHammer community site. Good luck to all the folks participating. Travel safe, play fair, and take lots of pictures for those of us back home!

It’s a pretty crazy concept, when you think about it. Playing a video game and ending up in a foreign country, competing for cash. Sure, it’s happened with first-person-shooter games, but a game billed as an RPG? Not so common. Guild Wars is a unique mix of story-telling and competitive PvP action, and its success rests firmly on both pillars.

  • That silly Devrek. What’s he up to this time?

We'll find out in our latest installment of the Roadstop Comedy Club! This week we bring you the fifth edition in our humorous series featuring a wacky stand up comedian. This time he’s back at the roadstop and something’s brewing! You’ll have to read to find out what though! Drive on over to the Comedy Highway and exit at Auto Assault @ TenTonHammer!

Hey guys! Welcome back to the comedy club. I missed all of you in my temporary absence. I hope that doesn’t happen again. I’ve got myself under control this time I hope. There is now a collar around my leg where if I try to leave the comedy club it’ll explode or something. I don’t really know because I wasn’t paying attention. That’s a small detail though, because there was something bothering me while I had all of that free time. What if cars could talk?

  • We're very worried

Light of Arnor is just plain worried about Lord of the Rings: Shadows of Angmar (LOTRO). In fact, he's so worried about things like cartoony graphics, PvP, lore and the end game that he may turn into a lemur while popping Xanax, drinking Everclear, and eating toxic pufferfish. Whatever shall he do to quell his mounting anxiety?

I'm very worried about my ability to have, well, the
important things. Will my sideburns be over 4 inches? Will I have the
ability to look 80 when I wish? Will I have the option to create a
morbidly obese onyx-skinned elf who's 5-foot-long hair flawlessly sways
in the wind as I run smoothly through the Balrog-infested woods of
Lorien? I'm worried about how perfectly unique I'm going to look. I'm
entitled to that, ya know. I pay good, hard money to be able to make
whatever I want, and I should have the ability to look unlike anything
else in Middle-earth. Nothing's helping. I'm calling my Psychiatrist
    (thank god for speed dial).

It's a fun, offbeat poke at overly anxious, pre-launch forum communities! Enjoy it responsibly at our LotRO @ TenTonHammer community site!
