  • Battlegrounds movies...Leeroy Jenkins is still teh win.
Blizzard has posted a Warsong Gultch movie. We think that it's possible they wrote this:

"This new gameplay trailer features two teams battling it out in Warsong Gulch in a capture-the-flag throwdown. Watch as the blue team powers its way to the all-important flag and brings it home. Is that a Tauren doing a victory dance?"

  • Two million players. 1 million rogues.
Blizzard has announced that World of Warcraft has broken the two million paying subscribers mark. We're nearly certain that they wrote this:

"IRVINE, California – 14 June, 2005 – Blizzard Entertainment® today announced that World of Warcraft&, the company's highly acclaimed subscription-based massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), has surpassed two million paying subscribers worldwide*. As the game's worldwide population continues to grow, so does the game itself: Blizzard recently introduced the highly anticipated player-vs.-player (PvP) Honor System and the game's first two Battlegrounds, Alterac Valley and Warsong Gulch. These new PvP battlefields offer a variety of fast-paced combat and some of the most valuable rewards yet seen in the game.
"World of Warcraft continues to surpass all expectations as gamers around the world embrace it with overwhelming support," said Mike Morhaime, president and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment. "We want to thank our players for their incredible response, and we promise to continue supporting World of Warcraft with more updates and content. The new Battlegrounds are just the beginning of greater enhancements to come."
World of Warcraft recently surpassed the two million mark for paying subscribers. Already the largest MMO in both North America and Europe, Blizzard expects to see even greater growth with the recent commercial launch in China on June 7, 2005. Anticipation for World of Warcraft was already at an all-time high in China, with peak concurrency during the open beta test topping 500,000 players, nearly equal to World of Warcraft's peak concurrency in all three current markets combined. Blizzard expects to see the new mark of two million subscribers shattered quickly with the arrival of players from China in the coming weeks.
Later in the year, World of Warcraft will also launch in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau.
Even as World of Warcraft debuts in new markets, Blizzard continues to develop new content to keep the game relevant and exciting for current and incoming players. The recent deployment of Battlegrounds illustrates Blizzard's commitment to enhancing the World of Warcraft experience for all its players worldwide. Additional Battlegrounds and more content updates are scheduled throughout the year and beyond."

  • An interview and advertisement in one.
Creative Labs interviewed Blizzard's Shane Dabiri about the sounds of World of Warcraft. It's possible that they wrote this:

"Our goal was to create an epic aural experience. With the world so vast, detailed, and beautiful, it was the sound team's job to make sure the audio matched what the players were seeing on screen. By creating rich ambient loops and having beautiful composed symphonic music, we believe that goal was achieved."

  • Battlegrounds is here.
IGN has posted an impressions article covering World of Warcraft Battlegrounds. It goes something like this:

"You'll be entering an instance and will have to wait in a queue, and today it was a fairly long one, averaging 30-45 minutes before you could actually get in on the action. On the bright side, you don't have to stand there in the tunnel like a doofus--you can travel anywhere in the world, even another instance, and basically do whatever it is you would do, were you not waiting to get into the Valley. A small icon will be placed on your compass in the upper right-hand corner of the screen, telling you how long you've been waiting and when Blizzard estimates you'll be inside. You can also pop up a menu here that will allow you to leave the queue or enter another."

  • Battlegrounds arrives, and with it much venting in general chat.
Blizzard has released Battlegrounds for World of Worldcraft along with a large patch. It's likely they wrote this:

" Live Patch Notes Disclaimer: While we make every effort to include all upcoming changes in our patch notes, please be aware that occasionally some changes are unintentionally omitted.

    Patch 1.5 Changes
    ****Battlegrounds arrive!****

    • The Warsong Gulch and Alterac Valley battlegrounds are now available. The Warsong Gulch entrances may be found in the northern Barrens near the Mor'Shan Rampart (Horde) and south of Silverwing Outpost in Ashenvale (Alliance). The Alterac Valley entrances may be found east of Sofera's Naze in Alterac (Horde), and in the Headlands of Alterac (Alliance). "

  • Does WoW in China have North American gold farmers?
GamesIndustry.biz has posted a short article on the launch of World of Warcraft in China. We're positive that they might have written this:

"The launch follows an extremely successful open beta period for WoW in China, which at some points saw 500,000 players using the servers simultaneously, and will be the fourth major territory for the game following launches in North America, Europe and South Korea."

  • Is a Dwarf a good choice for you? I guess it depends on how far you want to toss him.
RPGVault has posted their weekly WoW tips. This week covers the Dwarven race and equipping your hunter. It's conceivable that they wrote this:

  • Please, if the sun rises tomorrow take a few minutes and get a World of Warcraft review out there so folks can tell if it's good or not.
Quandary has written a review of World of Warcraft. They might have written this:

"So before I start this review I have to say that I can't compare WOW with any other MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game), and please excuse me if I get any of the jargon wrong. What I intend to do is call on my long experience of CRPGs. I should also point out that I am playing on a pve (player vs. environment) as opposed to a pvp (player vs. player) server, so not once have I been attacked by another player outside of duelling which I've tried a couple of times. So life is easy in this respect."
