  • Pictures that won't look anything like the final product.
Turbine has posted some Lord of the Rings Online concept art for you viewing pleasure. The picture today is what that girl you met last night looks like when you sober up, otherwise known as the Gothorog. Elijah Wood was too busy eating second breakfast to speak to us, but his agent was kind enough to tell us:

" In the early days of Angmar, the Witch-king sent forces North to "collect" the remnants of an evil race that was long believed destroyed, but which Sauron's far-seeing eye spied in the ruins of the Northern Waste. These ancient creatures were few in number but great in strength; of Troll-kind but far more cunning, and exceedingly cruel. The name given them was Gorthorog. "

  • DoD, not Dud.
GameSpot has posted some screenshots of EverQuest: Depths of Darkhollow. Stephanie of Survivor Guatemala ate a bug and then told us this:

"This is a test of the emergency description system. In the case of a real description you would find it here."

  • It takes a "guru" to get these screens.

I try not to wear my emotions on my sleeve too much, being the objective journalist that I am (/cough), but I'm a little bitter towards myself on this one. EQ2 Guru boasts a series of screenshots that your truly should have gotten- had I not patched the test server client instead of the beta client, thus missing the grand tour.

Check out these exclusive Desert of Flames screenshots exploring the different areas and zones from the upcoming EQ2 expansion.

/sigh, go to EQ2 Guru to see the damn screenshots based on the "Desert of Flames" expansion due out tomorrow (9.13.05). And I'll go check "Beta Testing On Live MMOs for Dummies" out of the library.

This is a test of the emergency description system. If the folks at LotRO had posted a description of their screenshots you would have read it here. Remember this is only a test. In the case of a real emergency you will find us hiding in a well."

  • Ever want to just slay an orc or two?
LotRO's newest screenshot might just fuel that urge. This game looks great, and if you don't believe me...

"[Ed. Note: I was going to paste the UUCode for the image here, since there's no description. But since very few of us can down UUCode straight, without a viewer of some sort, I figured you might better enjoy clicking on the link below for instant visual gratification.]"

  • Shiny pictures of a game you can't play.
Turbine has posted some fancy new screenshots from Lord of the Rings Online. We are confident that Sean Astin did not, in fact, say the following:

" This is a test of the emergency description system. Had Turbine actually taken 20 seconds to post a description of their new screenshots you would have read it here. Remember, this is only a test. "
