  • Does your desk need new paper?
New Guild Wars deskpaper (wallpaper for you miscreants who use that term) is available at the Official Site. Our attempts to confirm the following information with Michael Jackson's
    attorneys were rudely rebuffed:

"Ha! It's deskpaper folks.. they don't write anything about deskpaper. If you need an explanation then you probably can't install it anyway."

You can grab the Guild Wars Wallpaper (Deskpaper) at The Official Site.

  • PvP, no monthly fee and now rewards too.
The folks at ArenaNET are working on some fancy new Player versus Player (PvP) rewards for Guild Wars. Andrew Lloyd Weber did not issue a denial that he may be writing a 6 hour
musical version of Guild Wars after reading the following:

"Our next major update will be the introduction of PvP Rewards.
We know that many players right now are having difficulty unlocking items, runes and skills for use in PvP. On our private test servers, we have been testing a new reward system that lets you unlock items, runes, and skills for your pvp only characters through kills and victories in PvP. You'll unlock things faster if you are more successful, but we aren't implementing this system just for the elite players. Our goal is that every player will be able to make progress through normal play."

  • It's all about the levels.
The TenTonHammer.com Guild Wars community team have updated the Guild Wars Experience Chart. They probably wrote this:

"The experience table located in the TenTonHammer.com library has been updated to reflect recent game changes. Experience required for additional skill points now caps out at 20k, and this is now noted. If you are curious about the amount of experience needed for each skill point before it reaches the cap, take a look at the table."

  • All hail the new deskpaper.
ArenaNET has posted some new Guild Wars wallpaper for your desk covering pleasure. They didn't write a single thing:

"Zero, nada, zilch. They didn't write a thing about this wallpaper."

  • Guild Wars, it's not just for breakfast anymore.
Mesmerize has posted a Guild Wars Interview. It's almost certain that they wrote this:

"What steps are being taken to provide a deeper PvE experience that goes beyond the typical MMORPG model of "get a group, do a mission, rinse, repeat?""

  • No monthly fee and updates for free.
The folks at NCSoft / ArenaNET have posted the list of changes that are coming to Guild Wars. They wrote something that looks a lot like this:

"This week, as part of our in continuing promise to keep Guild Wars free of hacks, cheats, and other exploits, we closed the accounts of more than 100 users of bots. With today's update we are taking further steps to address the bot problem. New changes will improve our ability to identify and ban users of bots, rebalance mission areas that were highly exploited by bots, and reduce the overall effectiveness of bots, exploits, and other highly repetitive forms of gold and item farming. We are taking these steps to improve the game for all players, so that people using bots to farm gold cannot generate a huge influx of new gold into the economy, which increases prices for everyone and encourages other players to engage in repetitive farming just to keep up."

  • MMORPG - No Fee.
Bit-tech has joined the flood and reviewed Guild Wars. They wrote this, maybe:

"Forget what you know about MMORPGs, because Guild Wars takes the concepts and throws them out of the window. Number One: there are no fees to pay each month. You pay for the game upfront, like any other game, then you play it online as much as you want. Number Two: forget spending ages on mundane tasks like sleeping, or healing, or crafting. In Guild Wars, you spend more of your time questing and less of your time fiddling. Number Three: don't worry about queuing to take on big quests. You won't be sharing them with others."

  • The love-in continues.
MMORPG.com has posted their review of Guild Wars. It's probable that they wrote this:

"Led by a development team of industry veterans (many of whom hail from the hallowed halls of Blizzard) Guild Wars has had high expectations laid upon it by both its creators and many in the player community. Close scrutiny has been given the game throughout its long development and beta periods, with the Devs responding quickly and decisively to rectify game bugs and address player concerns."

  • Another Guild Wars review spills onto the Interweb.
Business Week Online has posted a review of Guild Wars. We're almost positive that they might have written this:

"It's definitely not your typical online role-playing game. Best of all: You only have to pay for "Guild Wars" ($50, T-rated) once. There are no extra fees, unlike most similar games, which charge about $15 per month to keep playing."

  • Someone removed their finger from the dyke and another Guild Wars review spilled out.
BonusStage has posted a review of Guild Wars. We are nearly certain that they wrote this:

"When it comes to Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games (MMORPG), gamers either love them or hate them, there’s rarely a middle ground. Something fans and non-fans alike would agree on hating however is the “pay as you play” monthly fee MMOs charge to play. Who with a sane mind actually likes paying 10 to 15 bucks a month after laying down a fifty-spot just to buy the game in the first place? As someone who absolutely loves a great MMORPG, even I have grown sick and tired of the fees. That’s why when NCsoft announced Guild Wars, a quasi-MMORPG with completely free online play, I gave up any care I had for the rash of upcoming (and now released) high profile titles like World of Warcraft and EverQuest 2 and held out for its arrival. After a long wait and numerous squelched urges to give those “other” MMOs a try, Guild Wars has arrived at long last and I’m so thankful for its creation, and you most certainly should be too."
