  • First Look: Release Notes Twilight Forge Module

If you're like me, you are counting the minutes until tomorrow's Twilight Forge update. To make your wait easier...ok well maybe just to pass the time...here is a sneak peek at the release notes.

Long ago, the Restless Isles were a chain of peaks linked by a labyrinth of tunnels and caverns. This natural fortress was transformed into a war foundry by the ancient lords of Dal Quor in their battle against the giants of Xen'drik. Known as the 'Twilight Forge,' this armory created warforged and other weapons for the cataclysmic war that ultimately ended in defeat for the quori and ruin for the giants.

Thousands of years have passed since then, and the land has been inundated with water from the Thunder Sea. Only the tops of the peaks remain above sea level, but quori-reinforced tunnels continue to link the islands in this mysterious chain. Although the quori have been gone for 40,000 years, their strange architecture survives. So do the wildmen – a race of warped humanoids known nowhere else in Eberron, and presumed to have evolved from servants that the quori left behind.

Visit Baudry Cartamon’s Shipping Warehouse, Ghola Fan’s Compound, The Shrieking Mines, and The Twilight Forge. Only a powerful party will survive the challenges of the Restless Isles!

Read the rest of the notes and pass the time until it goes live letting us know what you think about the changes on the forums at DDO Ten Ton Hammer!

Jonric: Regarding the developer, Quest Online, where is the studio located, how large is the team, and what related experience do the members have? And what is your status with respect to funding?

David Allen: Quest Online, Inc. was founded in February of 2006 in Chandler, AZ specifically for the purpose of building the Crusade project. We currently have over a dozen people working on the project, and will continue to expand the team throughout the year. • Storyline and Playable Races Discussed

CGOnline.com has posted an interview with Jeffery Steefel. Executive Producer of Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar, today.

What is it like working on such a popular franchise and bringing it to an ever-expanding genre? What materials have you studied for the Middle-Earth experience?

Working with a franchise like The Lord of the Rings is an incredible opportunity. We’ve dedicated ourselves to re-creating Middle-earth as faithfully as possible within the confines of a massively-multiplayer game. The opportunity to develop a persistent online world based on Middle-earth is exciting and challenging; everything is carefully researched before it makes it into the game.

Of course, the art team has also done a tremendous amount of research including wearing a full suit of armor and visits to the archery range down the street to make sure our hunters hold their bows properly!

Keep reading to find out more in this two part interview. Don't forget to stay tuned to LOTRO Ten Ton Hammer for all your latest news, interviews and information surrounding this much anticipated game!

  • A Look From Beta

MMORPG.com has filed a report on their impressions of Hero Online. This is a look at the game from beta, before a full preview.

    First Look

A highly successful MMORPG in Asia, MGame USA brings it to the English speaking world. At first look, it feels and plays like a cross between Street Fighter and Diablo – lots of martial arts moves and click-to-move/fight/equip/drink unlimited potions. Hero Online looks pretty simplistic at first glance. You are given a choice of four characters, two male (Hunter and Warrior) and two female (Assassin and Physician). Each has a description which tells you the type of combat it is good for and the weapons you can use. You also choose a profession (or class) at level 10, and despite their descriptions, any character type can elect to be any class – Assassin, Hunter, Physician or Warrior.

Learn more about Hero Online at MMORPG.com. Stay tuned here at Ten Ton Hammer for all the latest news and information on your favorite games including the forthcoming Hero Online.

  • The Burning Crusades Brings New Professtions

On the official World of Warcraft site, an article has been posted detailing one of the new professions expected to be included in the forthcoming expansion, The Burning Crusades. Get a look at Jewelcrafting...

World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade will introduce a lot of new features to expand the game in many interesting and fun ways. One of these additions is the introduction of a new profession: jewelcrafting.

Jewelcrafters learn the art of creating beautiful jewelry and trinkets from metals and rare gems. By processing the raw ore mined from the various deposits and mineral veins, jewelcrafters can extract gems from the ore which they can then use for their craft. Although miners sometimes find gems while gathering ore, jewelcrafters mostly rely on their prospecting skills to get more of the precious stones.

Find out more about this profession and let us know what you think on our forums at WoW Ten Ton Hammer!

  • No More Euro Servers?

According to Eurogamer.net, Net Devil and NCsoft are confirming that Auto Assault's Euro servers will be merging with US servers on July 13th.

Auto Assault's US and European servers are to merge this week, according to NCsoft and NetDevil.

Although the game reviewed fairly well, it's thought that the player-base isn't quite up there with some of NCsoft's bigger titles like City of Heroes and Lineage II - so the merger makes a certain amount of sense.

The result for players will be one big server, called Nexus, which is hosted in the US. The change is set to take place on July 13th.

Read the rest of this notice at Eurogamer.net. Don't forget to visit Auto Assault Ten Ton Hammer for all the latest updates on the game.

  • Key Devs Talk About Chocobo Breeding, Expansion Zones, and Player Leveling

1up.com released this interview Friday to in their words, "take the development team's temperature" about the recently released expansion, Treasures of Aht Urhgan.

With a few months of wear and tear on Final Fantasy XI: Treasures of Aht Urhgan's collective belt, we figured it was time to take the development team's temperature the old-fashioned way and see how they were doing. The time was also right to hit them with some pressing questions about some of TOAU's more significant problems (see: Besieged), and of course we couldn't help but ask them some smart-ass questions about why Beaucedine Glacier is such a hassle to get around.

Get clicking to see what the devs had to say and let us know what you think in our forums. Keep checking back here at Ten Ton Hammer for the latest news and information on all your favorite games, including Final Fantasy XI.
