  • Black Scorpion Meets Hiking Boot.
Boomtown has a profile of one of the upcoming City of Villains bad guys, Black Scorpion. Also mentioned is a female villain, Silver Mantis. P.Diddy, or is it just Diddy, or perhaps P, was stunned and appalled that he was not included as a villain and exclaimed:

" In a continuing effort to provide an assessment of the organization
known as Arachnos and the most significant super-powered threats within
it, I present in this report detailed information regarding the villain
    known as Black Scorpion.

  • I am super powerful, and I choose to wear spandex.
GameSpot has posted a preview of City of Villains giving an overall look at the upcoming game. We asked Martha Stewart if she would be making a guest appearance in the game and she replied as follows:

" Last year, developer Cryptic Studios and publisher NCsoft's City of Heroes helped massively multiplayer online games leap a tall building in a single bound. Previously, online role-playing games usually involved creating a fantasy character and repeatedly beating on skeletons and goblins to earn copper coins, magic swords, and the privilege of beating on larger skeletons and goblins. City of Heroes took massively multiplayer games into the realm of comic-book superheroes by letting you create your very own superpowered do-gooder, complete with superhuman abilities like flight, superspeed, and a whole host of other powerful abilities designed to let you conquer the thugs and criminals of Paragon City, the game's home area. Now, Cryptic and NCsoft are working on their next game, City of Villains, which isn't an expansion pack, but rather, is something of a stand-alone sequel to City of Heroes. You won't need the original game to play City of Villains, but you might want to consider getting both games eventually, especially if you're interested in pitting superheroes against supervillains in player-versus-player battles. • Good Grief!
We picked a handful of our Community Managers, gave them a topic, told them to quit their pansy cryin', and in the end they (of course!) came through. Check out these "Community Consciousness" Op/Eds on the subject of "griefing." Fortunately, Ralphedelominius and Neddie weren't around to give us a "how-to"!

  • Help Wanted.
HardcodedGames has posted a Google Maps doodad that lets you look for MMO jobs. Everyone's favourite cow, Kirstie Alley mistook MMO for Moo and cut her job search short disappointedly saying:

" Here is a handy web app I made to help find MMO game jobs. It is powered by CommunityWalk and Google Maps. This is an open community app that allows anyone to add more MMO development companies to the map as well as add comments about a particular developer. Feel free to contribute! "

  • Crazy Overlord hijinx!

Apparently Everquest 2's nutty prince of evil is messing with the weather again. What are we gonna do with him? Coming on the eve of the Desert of Flames expansion, there seems to be a strong hint of something else going on here. Hmm...

He turned to the cloaked Teir'Dal standing behind him. "Now," he commanded.

The Foci raised her staff and pointed it at the sky. An arcane fire glowed within her eyes for a moment as she uttered a single word: "Rain."

The clouds began to slowly swirl and gather as a low thunder rolled in the distance. He turned back to the crowd below.

"Now, citizens of Freeport, watch as I cleanse our kingdom of the last remnant of a distant past. Today, as we stand on the threshold of a new frontier, know that it is my will, not the faded memory of long-dead gods, which sustains us. Give me your loyalty and I will give you... the world!"
