  • A Look Into The Marvel Universe

Kotaku.com has posted an interesting interview with Frank Pape, senior director of business development for Microsoft Game Studios, Cryptic Studios' Jack Emmert and Vice President of Marvel Interactive, Ames Kirshen.

The game, first announced at ComicCon earlier this year, will be developed by Cryptic Studios, the team behind City of Heroes, for Windows Vista and the Xbox 360 and will support "seamless play" between the two platforms. Kirshen said Marvel decided to go with Microsoft because they wanted a console publisher who was a first party and had experience with computer games as well.

  • Jung-Hun Kwag provides an update on the progress of Silk Road Online since its global launch in March

MMORPG.com has an interview with Jung-Hun Kwag for an update on Silk Road Online.

Silk Road Online was the other MMORPG KIPA (The Korean IT Industry Promotion Agency) chose as part of the Game&Game World Championships for 2006. Developed by Joymax, Silk Road Online has had over 2-million players register an account since it launched on March 14th of this year. Of those players, Joymax is uncertain how many actually play, but the global version of the game requires 11 servers, each with roughly three to four thousand active players at peek hours.

The game is free to play, but allows players to buy things like accelerated experience gain, pets, potions, scrolls, character customization and other non-essential parts of the game. Most of which, added Jung-Hun Kwag of Joymax, were available for free players to earn as well.

  • MMO Golf??

That's right. MMORPG.com has an interview with CEO of OnNet USA, Kevin Kim. Don't miss out on this interesting interview.

Shot Online is an MMO Sports game. Players advance their characters skills, items and abilities by playing golf. While things like force and accuracy are decided by character skill, the player has to make the decisions themselves. In effect, you can hit harder than Tiger Woods, but if you aim the ball at the side of a mountain, it won’t do you any good. The game requires an interesting combination of player and character skill.

It has been two years since Shot Online made its North American debut, but this month marked its North American retail debut. Published by Synet, the game is available in major retailers across Canada and the United States. However, for the first two years of its existence, Shot Online has been free to play and free to download. They make their money through a micro payment system where players purchase items.

  • Guild Wars Nightfall Updated Impressions - Heroes, Quests, and Setting

GameSpot posted some updated impressions for the upcoming expansion to Guild Wars. They had a chance to speak with ArenaNet co-founder Jeff Strain about Nightfall.

The appeal of online games is that they let you have your adventures alongside other players from around the globe. And one of the hallmarks of ArenaNet's online role-playing game Guild Wars is that it has evolved over time, adding new features and gameplay ever since its launch last year. Thanks to excellent gameplay and the fact that there's no subscription fee required to play, Guild Wars has established itself as a hit. ArenaNet claims more than 2 million copies of the game sold to date, and with the release of further chapters, we can expect that number to grow.
