  • European Community Continues to Grow With Each New Lineage II Update

A press release was issued this morning that tells us about the expansion of service to the European Lineage II Community. Not only has it expanded, it has doubled!

Teon, the first server dedicated for European players, was recently moved to Frankfurt from the U.S as part of a larger overall plan to host Lineage II worlds in mainland Europe. By hosting servers in Europe, local players experience increased game performance, a better chance of building clans with same language players and more convenient timings of in-game community events, all of which are core elements to the Lineage II experience.

  • What Role Will You Play?

Games Radar takes a look at Vanguard: Saga of Heroes, focusing on the spheres of classes that will be available.

There are actually three different Spheres of classes in Vanguard: Saga of Heroes (didn't we mention that this game is huge?). In this portion of the preview, we'll focus on the Adventuring Sphere of classes which you'll select when you initially create your character. (We'll cover the Crafting and Diplomacy Spheres later in the week.) Your Adventuring class determines what kind of skills your character will be able to learn as you gain experience. These skills are predominantly combat based, whereas other Sphere's focus on other game aspects such as item creation and faction interaction.

Get clicking to read more. When you're done head over to the forums at Vanguard Ten Ton Hammer and share with us what classes you are planning to play when Vanguard launches.

  • Disambiguation

The official site for Lord of the Rings Online has been updated with a new Dev Diary. Nik Davidson offers this update titled Disambiguation...

Gundo's wounds were serious. The dwarves had beaten the poor hobbit soundly with maces and axes. He'd lost a lot of blood. The corpses of his friends littered the field, but he was almost in the clear. His heart was beating fast; he had sent several dwarves to their bloody end, and he could hear their angry yells behind him. He ran - ran as fast as his stubby little hobbit legs could take him, his hands white-knuckled, gripping the flag. At last, he crested the hill, and the great horn sounded. Victory! Victory, but at what cost?

Yeah, so that's what we're NOT doing.

When we announced there would be PvP in LOTRO, I knew some people immediately would come up with the above nightmare scenario. (Or worse. You guys are hella creative.) As such, we just sort of shook our heads as people concluded that we were turning our game into "HOBBIGEDDON: SLAUGHTER AT BAG END." Nothing could be further from the truth. What I'd like to do today is clarify what we mean when we talk about playing evil races, and PvP in LOTRO.

Keep reading to learn more. Are you looking forward to being able to PvP in Lord of the Rings Online? Share your thoughts with us in the forums at LOTRO Ten Ton Hammer.

NCSoft has issued a press release this morning to announce the release of combined edition of City of Heroes and City of Villains in the Good vs. Evil package.

The “Good Versus Evil Combined Edition” has both City of Heroes and City of Villains games, including the recent, massive expansion “Issue 7: Destiny Manifest” which introduced dynamic player-versus-player zones and one-of-a-kind villain Mayhem Missions. In the October 2005 follow-up, City of Villains, players get to show off their bad side by creating villainous characters whose job it is to build a criminal empire and wreak havoc in the Rogue Isles™.
