  • Ten Ton Hammer's First Look at "The Burning Crusade: Hellfire Pennisula"

The first location you will visit when venturing into Outland will be the Hellfire Peninsula. The Hellfire Peninsula is the starting location on your journey from level sixty to seventy and as such hosts a myriad of quests and locales for you to visit and level at. We take an in-depth look at this large zone and attempt to walk you through the various cities and structures located within!

"Both the Horde and Alliance hold massive outposts within the Hellfire Peninsula. They aren't really outposts, but more of giant structures that are both ruined and on fire. Yeah, you can guess it; things aren't going to good for either Honor Hold or Thrallmar. That just adds to the wonderful atmosphere that Outland slowly builds up. This is a war and the good guys aren't doing so swell."

  • Ten Ton Hammer's First Look at "The Burning Crusade: The Blood Furnace"

This is a first look at what to expect in the Hellfire Citadel, home of 4 brand new instance in the Burning Crusade. This article in particular looks at the second instance that you are likely to adventure through, the Blood Furnace in the Citadel.

The first boss you come across is The Maker, a very large angry looking Orc that carries allot of equipment strapped to his arms and back. The room he is in is a torture type lab with prison cells along the side and he looks almost mechanical in nature, and a bit like a Frankenstein creation. The whole scene works. Once his room is cleared and you start the fight with him you find out that he can hit hard, I mean REAL hard! The other really nasty ability he had is that he can mind control players and it did not seem to be dispellable. So all we had to do was DPS him down in between kiting our own MC'ed players and ensuring our tank had aggro so he couldn't kill our casters. All in all though he wasn't that bad.

  • Ten Ton Hammer's First Look at "The Burning Crusade: Hellfire Ramparts"

This is a first look at what to expect in the Hellfire Citadel, home of 4 brand new instance in the Burning Crusade. This article in particular looks at the lowest level instance, the Hellfire Ramparts in the Citadel.

With dreams of PHAT loot in our heads we moved on further into the instance and headed up a spiral stairwell to the top of the ramparts, where we found another larger circle of casters that gave us some issues. We managed to take them all out with AOE, figuring we could handle the buffed close combat guy if we took everyone else down fast... WRONG! He hurt our tank bad! We had a druid and priest healing him as much as we could and we couldn't keep up. Eventually he went down and we barely finished him before he took out the group. Oh well, we all had fun trying something new.

  • A Brief History of Azeroth

This is a very brief summary of the history of the World of Warcraft races, the formation of the Horde and Alliance factions, and the threat from the Burning Crusade.

“The world of Azeroth, from its beginning, has had an enemy which has threatened all life on the world. That enemy is the Burning Legion, started by the rebel Titan Sargeras. They call their desire to consume and destroy all life on all worlds the Burning Crusade.”

  • A Look at Stargate Worlds

GamersInfo has taken the time to post a preview of Stargate Worlds. Keep reading to see if they think that this will be a hit or a flop.

While Stargate has historically been a squad-based experienced, there have been instances where individuals were necessary to complete missions. Knowing this and keeping the solo-player in mind, they’re hoping to strike a balance. Though, as it is a multi-player game, they will provide rewards for “regular squad” play – the Stargate version of a guild.

  • Three Beta Reports

Gamespy has updated their site with three articles that report on the beta experience for Wow's upcoming expansion, The Burning Crusade.

The first is a look at the Hellfire Peninsula...

On the Blasted Lands side of the Dark Portal, the crater area has been cleared out of high-level mobs, and quest-giving NPCs have been added instead. This begins a series of quest breadcrumbs that lead you through the Dark Portal, into Outland, and to the first major city where you can start loading up on quests.

Second is a journal of sorts as the author tries out a Blood Elf Paladin...

Yesterday, I kicked off with my early experiences of The Burning Crusade playing as a freshly created Blood Elf Paladin. Today, I'm going to finish up talking about the newbie zone, Eversong Woods, and then we'll move onto the level 10-20 zone called Ghostlands.

Finally is a trek to level 70 as blue-skinned Draenei Shaman...

If there's something I missed about World of Warcraft since I began my days as a raider, it was the feeling you get when filling up your quest log with assorted missions, and filling your bags with assorted loot rewards, inching your way to the next level. While the level 70 cap will allow me to experience that with my main, I'm enjoying the low-level experience all over again, with my beta test of the Draenei starting area. Since the Draenei shaman offers the most unique experience for Alliance characters, I went that route and began my adventure by swinging my mace and earth shocking things in the face. Just wait until I learn frost shock!
