  • Updates, New Additions to Warlock Guide

At WoW - Ten Ton Hammer, we've updated our popular Warlock guide in style. No less than four chapters have been revamped for readability, and we've added talent builds, quests, grouping tips, macros and user interface hints just for 'locks, and refreshed links to other guides and added more of our personal favorites. If you want to unlock the true power of the shadow without the pretense of being a do-gooder priest, have we got a guide for you!

"And while we're on the subject of death, it's absolutely imperative to soulstone a paladin, priest, druid, or shaman (in that order of preference, pally's last the longest and have the best chance at fighting their way to dead groupmates) while you're grouped. If said player seems... aloof, politely inform them that they need to get the frak out of there should the battle turn sour; they're the group's insurance against a wipe. If they do need to die, they need to do it in a nearby safe place where they can resurrect themselves then the rest of the party. Note that it's not enough to have a soulstone in your inventory, you need to click and cast it on someone. Soulstones are THE biggest way you can be a hero to your group."

  • Premier World of Warcraft Zone for Horde Examined

The Barrens is the premier World of Warcraft zone for Horde characters in their teens to quest and gain near-effortless experience. WoW - Ten Ton Hammer's newest beginner guide looks at this region, a favorite of critics and players alike for its solid design. It's all the goodness you expect from a Ten Ton Hammer region guide, with background, a walkthrough and a detailed map, quest details, harvesting tips, and advice on where to adventure next!

"Aside from adventure opportunities, you'll find yourself travelling through the Barrens long past when you can benefit from hunting there. The Crossroads, in the center of the Barrens, is Azeroth's LAX, though after patch 1.10 you may not touch at the Crossroads en-route to your destination, more Horde flights originate here than from any other Horde flight master. Ratchet, to the east of the Crossroads, is a neutral port for ships bound for Booty Bay. The Barrens also borders such frequently travelled zones as starting zones of Durotar and Mulgore, step-up zones like Ashenvale Forest, Stonetalon Mountains, and Thousand Needles, and the level 35-45 zone of Dustwallow Marsh."

tactics for enemies that are giving you difficulty, our guide can

corner (where you buffed) to be tanked while the Rogues move to his
side and an off-tank stays behind him building aggro."

  • Paladin How To

We've gone through our Paladin Class Guide and updated a lot of
the information from the words of seasoned Paladins. Included in the
updates is a few brand new talent builds (both PvP, PvE, and leveling
builds), updated information on the best way to utilize your Paladin,
all about Paladin U.I.s, and much more!

"In solo PvE, combat should start with using Judgement of Crusader
(using Seal of the Crusader then judging it). Then use your combat
seal (Seal of Righteousness or Seal of Command) and swing your weapon
at the enemy! Depending on how well your mana holds, judge your combat
seal and reapply. You'll need to experiment with it to see how often
you can judge a seal while not spending all of your mana."

  • Who Is Rollin Hafner?

The official site for Stargate Worlds has been updated with another developer profile. This time we get to learn about Rollin Hafner.

The Allegorical Autobiography of Rollin Hafner

Once upon a time there was a young man; tall and lean with the hair of a 14th century painting. He was unique in all the world, for although nature has a sense of humor, it seldom repeats a joke. This man was a llama tamer and hedgehog philosopher, the sort of man that made his imaginary friends worry about his mental state and occasionally have interventions with him. He liked wild things, like thunderstorms and birdsongs and he knew many of the clouds by their nicknames.

Keep reading to learn more about Rollin Hafner. Are you looking forward to playing Stargate Worlds? Let us know about it in the forums here at Ten Ton Hammer.

  • Describing the Typical WoW Player with Numbers

Ethec gets his geek on to pour through the amazingly detailed census numbers available for World of Warcraft. Which faction is more popular - horde or alliance? What about race and class? Are there more active players on PvP or normal servers? The answers may surprise you! Plus, you know the reasons commonly given for World of Warcraft's incredible popularity, is there another reason lurking in the numbers?

"When people talk about World of Warcraft's success, they cite accessibility, availability of quests, directed play, and other qualitative mechanics directly attributable to… well, fun. But one of the best kept secrets of World of Warcraft's success can be expressed quantitatively, Numb3rs-style, through math. Check out the descriptive statististics to the right. K values from zero to two indicate meso-kurtosis, or (literally) a flat level distribution, and low positive skewness indicates a gentle downward slope in population as levels increase - both signs of as healthy a MMORPG population that can be hoped for. Omitting level 60 - which I'm comfortable doing since, by most accounts, the level 60 game is an entirely different game than the 59 levels preceding it - World of Warcraft meets these conditions more than a year and a half after its inception. This mathematical fact makes WoW a rarity among MMOs, most of which coping with vacant low-to-mid level zones, snaring these games in a developmental tailspin of catering exclusively to players heavily concentrated at high levels."

Keep reading to find out what other interesting facts Ethec has to share. Don't forget to stop into the forums at WoW Ten Ton Hammer to let us know what you think.
