  • Hail to the king, baby!

The O.C. register ran a story detailing Blizzard's rise to the top during BlizzCON last weekend. Industry followers probably won't find much that they didn't know, but it's a pretty good summary of the Irvine, CA-based developer's game-ography and recipe for success.

But Morhaime and co-founder Allen Adham convinced the skeptics. The game turned out to be "WoW," the company's most successful game ever.

"With 'World of Warcraft,' we bet the company," Sams said.

  • For the love of instances...

The second event that we attended at this years BlizzCon was the Raids and Dungeons panel. This was the discussion panel that I really wanted to attend. As any who reads the site knows, Instances are my thing. No matter if it's 5 man, 10 man, or raid, it's my true love.

  • The FAQ to end all FAQs.

To supplement the announcement that went out earlier, Blizzard has compiled a thorough list of frequently asked questions that players may have been quick to ask once the new expansion was revealed. On top of this, there's also a lot of information on the back story behind the Northrend area and the concept of the new hero class, the Death Knight. This is a must-read for any World of Warcraft fan, and it should answer any inquiries veteran players have about the game. Enjoy the read!

  • Hmm... in that case, I dated a girl with Imperial beauty once.

A new location was covered in this month's newsletter, so
we have a new location page to put up. This month we've got the province
of Reikland described in its Imperial beauty (that means morbid and
scary). Along with a full description and pictures this page describes
the zone better then... well it describes it quite well!

The wealthiest and most cosmopolitan of all the Empire's
Great Provinces, the Grand Principality of the Reikland is also home to

  • Much more fearful than those law-abiding marauders.

The official EA Mythic information for the Chaos Marauder
was released this month, and we've updated our career page to reflect
this. Along with the updated career information are some additional
pictures to go along with it.

In the frozen roof of the world - Norsca - live the many and
various northern tribes collectively known as the Norse. Born in that
frigid, hostile place, Norsemen are universally powerful – gifted with
ferocity and strength at arms. Believing themselves to be closest to the

  • Beer is always good.

MMORPG.com has a preview of the dwarven starting area in Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning.

"The first time we did the Dwarfs," said Mark enthusiastically, "we knew we had to hit beer, we knew we had to hit grudges, we knew we had to get WAR in there, we needed more beer in there... So we did all those things, as we liked it, but it just really didn't 'do it', something was missing."

    Check it out at MMORPG.com.

  • Orc-a-pult, away!

In our first video interview from ComicCon 2007, Warhammer
Online Producer Lance Robertson tells us all about recent beta
progress in the game, the ongoing relationship with Games Workshop,
and hints at the major announcement EA Mythic has in store for Leipzig
    Games Conference next month!

"While the event was structured as another in the line of EA
Mythic's immensely popular public hands-on appearances rather than as
a chance to show off the latest and greatest in-game, Lance told us

  • I'm waiting for an orc to say, "Pip pip cheerio, London fog and all that rot."

In the Warhammer Online universe, you rarely find an Orc that is willing to allow you to talk to him, let alone follow him around for a few hours. At Comic-Con 2007, the Ten Ton Hammer team was lucky enough to encounter Murgash the Choppa, a passionate Orc who was willing to take us into his world and show us what being a young Orc is all about. Entertainment and slightly British dialects await!
