  • Bestiary Update

That's right folks, our Bestiary has been updated again. This time with several new entries, particularly of the Chaos variety.
Acting as spiritual and magic leaders of the Beastmen society, Bray Shamans are leaders and magic users all in one. Often leading scouting parties in hunts against their enemies, seeing a shaman is often a sign of a greater Beastmen threat.

  • Guild Beta Application

The official site for Warhammer Online is now sporting a beta application for Guilds. Big or small, they say all are needed.

One application per guild. This application should be filled out by the guild leader. Guilds with more than one leader must choose one person to act as the point of contact between the guild and EA Mythic, or the guild and GOA, depending on the assigned server. Multiple entries will be deleted.

  • WAR is coming...

Just a little later than expected. From Mark Jacobs in the April 2007 Warhammer Online newsletter:

We have made the decision to move our ship date for the US and Europe to the first quarter of 2008. (Release dates for Asia will be announced at a later date.) Since our acquisition by EA, we have been afforded many wonderful development opportunities and we plan to take full advantage of everything that is available. This includes taking several additional months to make the best MMORPG possible.

  • Age of Reckoning Conference Call recently had a chance to talk to the makers of Warhammer Online via a conference call. Keep reading to see what they were able to learn...

Speaking of Realm versus Realm combat, “open field” combat will not be the primary way of winning points to help secure zones and objectives for your realm, “open field” being defined as simply side versus side combat with no fixed scenarios (much like the frontiers in Dark Age of Camelot, or certain zones in World of Warcraft). They do expect open field combat to be very popular, though, as people seem to enjoy it quite a bit.

  • More Media From the WAR Surge
Some more information has filtered out about Warhammer Online from a write-up on Probably most interesting were the tidbits about the new Marauder class. This DPS fighter will actually feature Chaos Mutations, something many tabletop Warhammer players are familiar with. Anyway, here's a bit of that section:

From what the guys said, some of these mutations will be temporary. The player will be able to option mutations to attach with. If you have seen the concept art, you'll know that the Marauder can shape their arms into claws, tentacles, clubs, and general Chaos craziness.

Don't we all love tentacles. Read the rest here.

  • Newsletter Shares Details of Chaos Marauder Class

The newsletter for Warhammer Online has revealed the details of this class.

In the eyes of most citizens of the Empire, Norsca is a wild and untamed land, full of dangerous creatures both natural and unnatural. Perhaps this is true in the deep north, but along its southern borders where Norsca joins with the northernmost provinces of Kislev, a civilizing influence has taken hold. Here, brave adventurers and resourceful frontiersmen who don?t feel at home in the cities and towns of the south cross the border into Norsca to find their fortune.

  • EA Mythic Media Event Report

RPG Vault offers their views form the EA/Mythic Media Event.

Perhaps most interesting was a new feature called Camelot Campaigns. These are described as in-game story arcs that will last six months, with new content being added every two weeks. The first one is titled A Dragon's Revenge. Further details were somewhat sketchy, but it looks like each of the three realms will have a different dragon.
