  • Crime Prevention

Lately, account theft has been an issue on the minds of a lot of Guild Wars players. Particularly with spots in the next championship at stake, keeping your account a private, sacred thing is important. There are a few ways you can lose your account to morally vacant thieves, and we don't want you to get caught by any of them.

Farming is dull, but it doesn't break the rules of the game. Cheating does. Am I failing to appeal to your moral fiber? No? Okay, how about this—none of those cheat programs actually work. They're just trying to get your information and put nasty programs on your hard drive. The things they promise are absurd. Think I'm kidding you? I'm not. But if you still don't believe me, I have one word for you: "keyloggers."

This article discusses cheat software, keylogging, account theft and most importantly, prevention. Check out Cheating, Keylogging, and Stolen Accounts at Guild Wars - TenTonHammer and protect yourself.

  • Become the Champion of the Mutant race!

The Champion class is the mutant “tank” class for Auto Assault, literally. The Champion is a strong and hearty class designed to keep all of the enemies’ attention while his convoy wipes them out. In honor of their heroic standing with the Mutant race, we bring you a brand new class guide all about the Champion. A full skill listing is included!

The Champion class is the main tank class for the Mutant race. It's similar to the other tank classes, but less of a brute and more of a sophisticated fighter who can channel the Ursaic Spirit. The class brings about the best of the tank class (the defense, the offense, and the ability to hold aggro) while at the same time adding in skills that are fun to use. The Champion class has the ability to use most weaponry in the game, and overall is a solid figure in the Mutant lineup.

Embrace your mutant side, join the tribe with the Champion guide at Auto Assault - TenTonHammer!

  • TenTonHammer's Auto Assault "Battle Shout!" Contest

Ever have the urge to shout something before that glorious dance known as battle? Well if you do, we want to hear it! We have pre-order serial codes to give to the best five entries in our "Battle Shout!" contest! It's simple; post a humorous or creative battle shout on the TenTonHammer - Auto Assault forums between April 21st and May 4th, 2006. The best five will receive a pre-order serial code that can be used to obtain a 5% loot bonus and a free front mounted weapon that levels along side of you!

"Leading into battle, a popular old-world habit was to shout a battle
cry to get the adrenaline pumping and raise the spirits of the men
around you. While the effects of this strange tradition were never
recorded, it was known to happen. In the present day many wastelanders
find using a battle shout leading into battle can help bring luck on
their side or prepare themselves for the battle itself. Things like
"DIE FILTHY MUTANT SCUM" and "FOR HUMANITY!" are prime examples of
what young freelancers shout going into battle these days."

Submit your battle shouts at the TenTonHammer - Auto Assault forums!

  • Not going to E3? It's ok. Don't cry. You're hooked up!

ArenaNet announces a special competitive opportunity taking place in early May. We want 9 guilds from around the world to compete in the Guild Wars Factions E3 Challenge.

The selected guilds will challenge The Last Pride [EvIL], the winner of the E3 Appearance Prize, to a quick 20-minute battle. We will keep track of the winner of each battle and how quickly they achieve victory. The guild that wins its match in the shortest amount of time will take home the gold; the second-fasted the silver; the third-fastest the bronze.

If your guild doesn't win, but manages to go the distance—that is, the guild remains standing for 20 minutes against the Season 1 GWFC Champion—then your guild will earn the Survivors' Prize package instead!

With two ways to win, what are you waiting for? Sign up today!

In the meantime hie yourself over to our Guild Wars Community.

  • Tinkering and Gadgets in Auto Assault!

Continuing NetDevil’s Auto Assault how-to guide series, we bring you “Gadgets and Tinkering”. Ever got an object with a red circle at the top? That’s a gadget slot. You can use the Tinkering skill to unlock it and insert a gadget. Gadgets can really help beef up your items, which is why having a good Tinkering skill is always advisable!

Let’s say you have a Masters Degree in Blowing Stuff Up. You don’t have much of an interest in recipes, building your crafting disciplines, spending time gathering components and experimenting with weirdo commodities in the hope that you can make a bigger, badder gun. We get it. Your destiny is to cruise the wastelands, raining destruction on your enemies – and leaving all the crafting and refining stuff to the city dwellers. You use whatever is useful what your enemies leave in your wake, and sell the rest.

Grab those gadgets and head on over to Auto Assault - TenTonHammer to get a more in-depth view on Tinkering / Gadgets.

  • A New Auto Assault How-To Series from NetDevil!

Today we bring you a new how-to series from the creator of Auto Assault, NetDevil! To kick things off, there is a new how-to guide all about crafting. It takes you from looting the materials all the way to having a shiny (slightly) new item!

People always say it’s easier to blow stuff up than to build ‘em from scratch. Pull the trigger, Pike explodes. Drive the wasteland at full speed, osterake becomes instant roadkill. If you want something, you go out and take it. They put one of yours in the hospital, you put one of theirs in the morgue. That’s the Auto Assault way!

Grab your salvaged nuts and bolts and head on down to Auto Assault - TenTonHammer to fix up those broken parts.

  • It's not Vegas, but these slots will take your money.

NCSoft / ArenaNet announced that, starting this summer, alternate character slots for subscription-free MMO Guild Wars may be purchased for $9.99 / €8.99 / £5.99 a piece. This is a one-time fee. From GamesIndustry.biz:

As a result, NCsoft presumably believes the facility will enjoy a broader appeal than it would for traditional massively-multiplayer games, and that relatively casual players as well as hardcore Guild Wars fans will find the chance to play as more alternative characters - while retaining access to other unlocked content - worth the extra fee.

Given that buying the box for $52.99 grants you four character slots, I suppose you could argue that the $9.99 fee gives you a ~$3.25 piecemeal discount. If you love your PvP, this could be a nice way to supplement your collection post-Factions expansion.

Wha? You don't have one yet? Well, me either. In game conference press rooms, the "What if the hokey pokey really is what it's all about?" bumper sticker on my laptop subjects me to enough scornful laughter, thanks.
