  • If she really were an assassin, she'd be gone by the time we link to the forum thread.
Guild Wars Guru's community and (interestingly) Guild Wars Slovenia are reporting that assassins are going to be the new class for the game's chapter 2 installment next year. What began as a rumor has since been confirmed by ArenaNet officials, like Alex Weekes of the Community Relations team:

Actually, it's from a well-respected source (Play Magazine) and has already been confirmed as legitimate by Gaile (and now by me). The source is not an adult publication, it's a gaming publication ... and as Gaile has already noted, Play Magazine have previously provided some excellent Guild Wars features.

Nothing dubious about it at all, the Assassin will be available to players when the game releases in the First Half 2006.

There ya have it. Check out the newest Guild Wars class at the official site.

  • How do the dragons fit down those tiny tunnels to get into the dungeon in the first place?
Dungeons and Dragons Online received twice the loving today with previews posted on both GameDaily and MMORPG

" Recently, I had the opportunity to attend a press event for Turbine’s Dungeons and Dragons Online: Stormreach. Before I even left, I knew what to expect. I was told that the game’s lead designer, Ken Troop was going to give us a brief overview of the game before we ourselves would have a chance to sit down in front of it. "

  • You would think that the job market for bad guys would be saturated in City of Villains.
OGaming has posted a City of Villains Interview featuring Jack Emmert.

"It’s good to be bad in City of Villains, the latest MMO masterpiece from developer Cryptic Studios and publishing partner NCSoft. After decades of begging, fans can now literally hop into the cape and tights of a twisted mutant, degenerate sorcerer or evil mastermind at will. "

  • A contented Jedi, or your money back.
SOE, or "The Home for Troubled MMOs", just announced that the Star Wars Galaxies: Jump to Lightspeed expansion will be made free for longtime players who hadn't purchased the expansion. Also, a full refund will be given to players dissatisfied with the Trials of Obi-Wan expansion. And in other news, SOE devs through their hands in the air and burst into tears.

" Beginning today, as an added bonus for our veteran players who do not yet have the Jump to Lightspeed™ expansion (and thus, space content) we will be giving you this expansion at no additional charge.  This bonus content will automatically download to you upon your next log in to the game beginning today.  After all, space is more fun with other people to enjoy it with!  May the Force be with you!"
    --and--
"However, if your Star Wars Galaxies account was in good standing as of November 3, 2005, you purchased the latest expansion pack, Star Wars Galaxies: Trials of Obi- Wan™ before November 3, 2005, and you find that these new enhancements are not to your liking, you may request a refund of the purchase price of the Trials of Obi-Wan expansion pack."

I really hope the revamp is successful, this is becoming painful to watch. New SWG announcements at the Official Site.

  • Fancy moving pictures, complete with sound!
1UP has posted some videos from the recent BlizzCon gathering. My personal favorite is the dance-alike contest.

" But Blizzcon isn't about what they exhibited-- it was all about the attendees and the community. To be able to see my WoW General Chat in flesh is a surreal but exciting. It's exhilarating and comforting to know that I belong in this niche community where all of us are deeply obsessed and passionate about this alternate reality. Is it geeky that all of us cheered wildly at the guy who did the perfect Troll dance in the dance-alike contest? Maybe, but that's what I felt like Blizzcon was- a huge inside joke where all of us who "get it" are reveling in the exclusivity. Walking around the show floor was tiring but that didn't bog us Blizzconites down, we had high Spirit. Enjoy the videos! "

  • You will accept my God or I will kill you, because he is a kind and caring God. And so begins the crusade.
ComputerAndVideoGames, the site with the longest name in MMOG circles has posted a preview of World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusades.

    "
There is a life beyond the world as you know it. I know because I've just been there. But right now I'm sitting in an office in Irvine, California, and sitting opposite me is Blizzard's creative director Chris Metzen, the man whose mind provides the motivation every time an orc raises an axe in anger. Every major nugget of Warcraft lore has passed through his hands - Frozen Thrones, Dark Portals, you name it. He's the man who gives meaning to your daily grind. He's also a full-on rock star: wide grin, muscular build, dazzling necklace, chunky rings and Bono sunglasses. He's the closest man to Henry Rollins the games industry has. And I'm here to hear him talk Orc. "
