  • The best gathering this side of the Prancing Pony...

Our friends at LotRO Source have done a fantastic job of putting together this year's Lord of the Rings Online Gathering, happening RIGHT NOW in Providence, RI! The devs are very excited about taking LotRO into closed testing earlier this week, and yea, that's exciting... but so is the fact that a brace of beautifully crafted Middle Earth weapon replicas are up for grabs as door prizes behind the "No Touchie" sign.

Ten Ton Hammer is sponsoring the Hospitality Suite, so yours truly is on hand to make sure they drink all the alcoh... er, Diet Pepsi. I'll have plenty of news from the event when things ramp up tomorrow but why not check out Saturday's live audio / video feed direct from the Lord of the Rings Online Gathering instead?!

  • Fancy moving pictures, complete with sound!
1UP has posted some videos from the recent BlizzCon gathering. My personal favorite is the dance-alike contest.

" But Blizzcon isn't about what they exhibited-- it was all about the attendees and the community. To be able to see my WoW General Chat in flesh is a surreal but exciting. It's exhilarating and comforting to know that I belong in this niche community where all of us are deeply obsessed and passionate about this alternate reality. Is it geeky that all of us cheered wildly at the guy who did the perfect Troll dance in the dance-alike contest? Maybe, but that's what I felt like Blizzcon was- a huge inside joke where all of us who "get it" are reveling in the exclusivity. Walking around the show floor was tiring but that didn't bog us Blizzconites down, we had high Spirit. Enjoy the videos! "

You can view the BlizzCon Videos at 1UP.

  • "You guys are still posting Halloween stuff?"
OK, so we're all a little played out on the Halloween theme, but that doesn't mean we can't download some memories for later. Enter the newest video from Arena.net, celebrating the in-game Halloween hullaballoo

"We'd like to offer Guild Wars players a little keepsake from the recently-concluded Halloween Event. We have a gameplay movie for you featuring images from throughout Tyria, along with player festivities, The Mad King's visit, and more. "

  • Orcs from Sesame Street?
The newest trailer from Turbine features an orc voiceover (that really sounds a lot like Grover from the popular, long-lived kids show) daring you to join the battle so he and his friends can beat on ya. The dub might be a bit comical, but the glimpse inside the game the trailer gives is entirely worthwhile.

"This exclusive DDO trailer is a ~30 meg download and features a look at many of the enemies you'll encounter beneath the player city."

  • Mastermind movie.
NCSoft has released another City of Villains movie. The focus this time is on the mastermind archetype. No sign of Pinky and the Brain.

" This video features the Mastermind Archetype. The Mastermind is able to summon minions and use them to attack opponents. Some of the henchmen available include zombies, ninjas, soldiers and robots. "

  • The movie is out, now begins the five day wait until we see the game.
Fileshack has posted another City of Villains movie to keep fans occupied in the few days that are left before release. I'd tell you that we were excited about dressing up in tights and running around smashing things, but that is pretty commonplace behaviour here at TenTonHammer. Here's the matter of fact description of the movie posted by the Shackers:

" Two minute long in-game video from City of Villains. "

  • Shocking new footage...

Not really shocking, but it is relatively new. The Dungeons and Dragons Online: Stormreach official site boasts a new video section and several new screenshots. More pictures means less words, apparently, so this is all the description I could find:

In our continued efforts to expand our new website we added a video section today! We also added some more screenshots to our screenshot archive!

I guess you'll just have to see for yourself! The new video and screenshots section at the Dungeons and Dragons Online Official Site.

  • Mazdas with missile launchers.
Fileshack has the latest Auto Assault Movie posted called, "Tricks and Trims". This two minute movie focuses on the vehicle customization. The NASCAR press relations team refused to speak to us, though we are confident that had they said anything at all, it would have been this:

    "
Two minute long Auto Assault movie called "Tricks & Trims" shows off the game's vehicle customization options. "

You can download the Auto Assault Movie at FileShack.

Gamers Hell highlights AA's nifty physics engine and combat styling with a new movie. You may need to buckle up, but you won't need a driver's license.

"We have a new Auto Assault movie, showcasing this vehicular combat with role-playing elements which will be released later this year (thanks: GameSpot). In this game, players explore a post-apocalyptic future in customizable cars, motorcycles, semis and even tanks. Players battle other players both in arenas and in epic race vs. race wars for control of the regions in a devastated Earth. Auto Assault uses the power of the Havok physics engine to let you make insane jumps, send obstacles flying and even blast bridges, buildings, fences and trees with your car-mounted rockets. "
