Oh yeah? Well, I was WAIST-deep in violence. So there.

For the last two weekends, Cody "Micajah" Bye has been knee-deep in violence and completely overwhelmed with Fury. Taking up his dual swords, Cody entered the Fury Challenge; a two weekend event in Auran's upcoming MMOTPS, Fury, that featured some amazing prizes. In his latest article, Cody gives a description of the competition and what players can expect when the game finally hits store shelves!

    More slicing and dicing.

Another preview of Fury just sprang up, this one takes a more "player-oriented" look at the game, bouncing between feature description and player emotions. He also includes a chart of Fury schools and descriptions from the Fury website, which is pretty handy.

There's nothing like getting a sword to the face.

Snap-quick decisions, frantic hotkey pressing, and painful deaths are all an inherent part of the Fury experience. Managing editor, Cody "Micajah" Bye, had the opportunity to try Fury out for himself with thousands of other players during Auran's beta weekend, and the results were fantastic! With his sword and shield in tow, Micajah has written up his thoughts and observations of Fury in a hands-on preview for you to enjoy!

There are only so many Fury puns I can make. Might I interest you in a shiny button, instead?

WarCry shares their impressions after a furious weekend of Fury.

Alan Hoover, our Fury on WarCry Site Manager, ran through this weekend's Beta Preview event and came back with some thoughts. He took a different approach, as we've written a few articles on gameplay itself and this time looked at some of the less publicized features the game has or will have.

Go take a look over at WarCry.

Auran, Gamecock Set To Unleash The Fury

GameInformer has posted a look at the upcoming Fury. This preview also has a great looking screenshot you don't want to miss.

Fury is focused on PvP combat, pitting realms (servers) against one another for glory and prizes. As players win battles, they not only earn items and new abilities for their characters, but they also earn points for their overall realm. Higher-ranked realms will have special buffs and abilities, giving players an incentive to not only advance their characters but to also help their fellow players be the best they can possibly be.

    Killing is the Key

Player versus player combat (PvP) has almost always been relegated to a secondary position in most MMOs with the majority of the functionality going towards player versus environment or factional warfare. Auran Studios, which is based out of Australia, is proceeding to alter the landscape when it comes to PvP by introducing their new game, Fury. Ten Ton Hammer sits down with a playable version of the title and has a go at some PvP combat.

Probably the greatest asset that Auran has given to Fury is this singular concept: players are playing this game simply to PvP. "There's no PvE in Fury," said Tony Hilliam, Director and CEO of Auran. "Anything that is built on PvE detracts from the PvP. So we didn't include any PvE."

Hate people? This game's all PvP.

IGN adds their voice to today's Fury previews.

Players can choose between four "schools" of magic, and rank up each skill according to how much it's used. Your character gains ranks as well, earned separately from skill gains, by performing PvP quests handed out by NPCs standing in the game's player populated safe zones, called sanctuaries.

    Fury First Look

Gamespot weighs in with their impressions of Fury from GDC.

Auran showed only a brief glimpse of the game, which looks as though it's set in some kind of hybrid fantasy universe that's influenced by many styles, including Asian themes. The surprising thing about Fury is that it will feature absolutely no player-versus-environment combat, which means that you won't be running around a virtual world looking to kill monsters or animals.

Find Out What IGN Thinks Of Fury

IGN has posted a report of their hands on preview. Find out what they learned when they were given a chance to test drive this upcoming game. You'll love the screenshots that are included with the article too!

Tony Hilliam explained, "We don't consider ourselves a true MMO - we want to be the best at one thing. We know we can't compete with WoW. They've done a great job with handcrafting content for dungeons and they have a massive breadth of content that we can't match. So instead, we set out to take the basic Battlegrounds concept and improve it dramatically. So that's what we've set out to do. We want to the best PvP game there is."

Keep reading to learn more. Are you looking forward to Fury? Tell us about it in the Ten Ton Hammer Forums today!
